Do tell. I think the premise is sound. Most cable channels are losing subscribers due to more and more people cutting the cable cord.
The number of cord-cutters is extremely small. Subscriber loss is more due to cord-nevers. It's not cable customers dropping their packages, it's millenials who aren't signing up for cable in the first place. That's the purpose of SlingTV and other "light" packages. Regardless, live sports is the last haven for advertisers, since it's the only content out there that's relatively immune to time-shifting (DVR and on-demand).

I cut my cord a few years ago. I "have" to have a basic package through Comcast to get internet but it is as bare bones as possible (like ten channels). I hate the current cable tv setup and all the f'ing commercials.

Dear web content providers... Please be aware that I will ALWAYS skip the adverts.

One day soon Disney is going to enter the streaming market and be a force.

You'd get everything on ESPN/ESPN2, ABC, ABC Family, Disney Channel, etc paired with movies from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Lucasfilm, etc.

And honestly when they get into the streaming game it wouldn't surprise me to see them buy Netflix. They couldn't buy HBO (it's owned by Time Warner), but I think they could buy Netflix.

In 2025 I bet we see streaming services dominated by Disney, Time Warner, Comcast, 21st Century Fox, CBS, Viacom. There has to be mergers, there's no way each can charge $20/mo. I think there is room for like four of them.

But yeah ESPN streaming soon is only a sign of the times.

So good. College football is way more fun when you don't care who wins.

Haha, I thought the same thing,... 'Man this would suck if it were a Notre Dame game,...'

I haven't paid much attention to recruiting this year. Any of our targets playing in the ESPNU games tonight? Peachtree Ridge at Archer and Chandler at Gorman.

You must be a truly joyless old man to not find any excitement in a life-size, fully functioning R2-D2.

There's better videos/pics out there, but it's the President of Barstool Sports holding up a "Chris Mortensen lies" and a "Fire Roger Goodell" on live TV outside the Brady hearing today. Also snuck in an "ESPN lies" at the end there.

He's also wearing a Goodell clown shirt.
