3-3-5 next year? Freeman could be flexible but Arnett IS a 3-3-5 guy.

I don't believe this to be true? Maybe I missed that.

It has been written and discussed by multiple sites that they expect Kelly to go in house. Maybe things have changed, but Elston or Joseph were the early odd favorites.

If that's the case, you'd have to think the Freeman talk is all for show. If you're the new DC, you want to bring in your guys. I know Elston has always been the heavy favorite to get the gig, but I was hoping we'd be able to pull Freeman somehow.

Not sure about that, it's pretty common to have conditions like "you can bring one guy" or negotiated agreements with potential hires about who is staying and who isn't. For example, Elko explicitly asked to bring Lea along.

Some of the guys on staff clearly aren't going anywhere (e.g. Elston) and others already have a Freeman connection (e.g. Mickens) so it's not like there is much than is fungible regardless. I think the Freeman talk definitely has legs and he's getting a legit interview.

Also, I have no clue on the Leznyski situation except that it was strongly implied he'd still be at ND next year when the Lea news broke.

Freeman was on campus today interviewing and getting a tour. That’s from a personal source.

Depending on how all the coaching moves play out, there could be a bit more cash free than last year. It might not be the ideal situation for him, but worst case, I bet they could give him a nice raise to stay on as an analyst at least another year.

And there is still the chance that Elston and/or Joseph leave for DC positions elsewhere and maybe one of them takes him.

Apparently Sark is going after Arnett for Texas DC. That makes me like Arnett even more. If the coordinator of the explosive offense we need to defeat likes him, that means Sark probably thinks Arnett's defense is the type that can beat him.

I'd love to see Tyler Stockton get an interview. He's not ready for ND DC, but would like to see him get the press.

Interesting. Was kind of hoping ND would have the last crack at him. LSU saying he’ll be there interviewing this week as well, possibly tomorrow or Thursday.

If he’s your guy you don’t let him interview elsewhere. You go Don Corleone and make him an offer he can’t refuse.

Interesting. Could see that cutting both ways.

I dont know what football coach can walk on Notre Dame's campus and not feel the history, energy, etc.

Could see a wife falling in love with the university but South Bend isn't exactly....welll...yeah lol

People either seem to love it or not. Ever been to LSU? Just curious how the area is.
