My wife coaches girls high school soccer. I have a daughter in golf, a daughter in lacrosse and a daughter in soccer. My message to the four of them is simple: you come across any opponents who used to be male, you pull up your frigging bootstraps and just work harder. Hard work, grit and doing everything right is all it takes to succeed. If you fail, try harder next time.

My message to state representatives is you should be spending minimal time, if any, protecting or attacking this particular issue because there is a mountain of far more important things facing the state. Chicago alone needs dire attention on multiple far more pressing matters than girls sports.

What a sorry bunch of excuses. Crime and violence are always going to be there, our government hasn't fixed that in hundreds of years. Our bullshit two party system has shown more often than not they aren't very capable of working together these days. However one thing they've shown is that they're capable of walking and chewing bubblegum at the same time. If they sat on their hands until those broad issues got resolved, nothing would ever get done.

Those broad issues will always be there because government can never agree on a solid resolution. Preventing men from competing against women in women's sports should be something everyone agrees on. Globally it's been getting squashed, and slowly it's making rounds in the US despite resistance. The NAIA already prohibits it along with a number of states, NCAA is up next.

I care about being able to retire and prosper while I'm working, if I even get to have retirement, and for my children...if there is one. I'd like to think these issues are as important to me if not more important to average voters. I just don't have the incredible bandwidth for the transgender issue that you and a lot of the other guys in this thread seem to, nor do I subscribe to "that's just the way it is,"
