The problem in the US with this is that the Left's response to it - their policies, their agenda - are all politically driven instead of driven by facts, evidence, medical & psychological factors, and the welfare of the kids themselves. In other words, they aren't trying to do what's best for these children. They're using the issue to do what's best for their party.

I think it would be a horrible misstep by the Chiefs to let Butker go, especially when he's got the top selling jersey right now. I could see them doing it to appease the vocal minority, but I wonder how many of those offended people were NFL fans to begin with? I think if you make him a scapegoat you're alienating your actual fanbase to appease a group that, by and large, probably wasn't taking part in your product to begin with. There needs to be less kowtowing to woke mobs, it's alright to have differences in opinions and free speech should be protected.

The Chiefs didn’t release Tyreek Hill from any of his domestic abuse issues, nor did they fire Andy Reid’s son after the DUI but declined to renew it, nor have they cut Rashee Rice from his multiple issues this offseason. The Chiefs have shown they don’t care about off the field problems.

Releasing him would be the dumbest fucking thing they could do. Would give more credence to the notion that “traditional values” are under attack as some believe. Criticize him but don’t fire him.

I think the response to this has been a rather obvious validation that traditional values are under attack.

this isn't actually true. NFL/fanatics has hundreds of jerseys listed as "top seller" it means nothing.

That may be true, however I've looked at all the jerseys in the "top" and while most of them are available in every size, Butker is sold out of all sizes from L-5XL with only Small and Medium available. Very few player jerseys are sold out at any size, if they do it's usually one or two sizes only. I imagine some of that is attributed to smaller inventory for a kicker, but it's clearly selling. Supposedly the women's jersey is completely sold out, I couldn't even find one.

if i stock 5 Butker jerseys and sell 5 but I have 50,000 Mahomes jerseys and sell 40,000 of those would you consider Butker's jersey to be better selling? I can't imagine fanatics is keeping many Butker jerseys in stock before all of this. So any notion that somehow people are going wild to buy his jersey to support his political views is kind of weak.

Thankfully they're sold out. I can't imagine what you look like in a women's jersey. :p

lol response? People rightfully called him for his boomer takes. I think “cancelling” him for those takes are wrong. He can say what he wants, but thinking “traditional values” are under attack is hilarious.

There’s a big difference between how teams view off field problems. The Chiefs don’t care at all. They kept Kareem Hunt until they found out that he lied to them about his domestic abuse charge lol. They didn’t care until it was lying to them. There were several teams that would not consider trading for Watson because of his serial sexual predator behavior. But that didn’t bother the Browns, Saints, or Falcons

Breaking news: Catholic University asks Catholic Football Player to speak at graduation and talks about Catholic Values… appalling! We should not fire this boomer/catholic Because it would support way too many arguments on this board. 😂

A friend texted me this last night.

I want to teach your kids!”

Never can I remember a time when one of my teachers thought it was necessary to divulge their sexual tendencies, or tell the class about their marriage partner, or anything related to those topics. I can't remember a time when myself or any of my classmates even cared. We had one gym teacher that we guessed was homosexual, but it wasn't a big deal even then and nobody obviously cared enough to ask such a question because it would have been rather inappropriate to ask something so personal anyway. Why these teachers today think it's necessary to discuss these things is beyond me. It's rather creepy.

Dude, I had a gym teacher walk us through on how to go down on a girl because "that's the key to their heart". It took the entire class. Anytime I see a teacher scandal I always check to see if it was his name. 2007 was a wild time I guess lmao.

Same here. Furthermore, I don't believe a single one of my teachers ever discussed their political views with us. I could make an educated guess about a couple, but NONE of them felt it was appropriate to push their political or sexual or philosophical views on us. They were there to beat calculus and history and chemistry and literature into our empty adolescent heads! Nothing else.
