I am waiting on test results for two people with symptoms who came in contact with someone who I had multiple contact with. They are now all in quarantine. Amazing how real it just got! I can even take food to my elderly Mother until I know the results.

How can this possibly be true?

Sent from my Pixel 4 XL using Tapatalk

I heard yesterday that "forcing" zinc into you system is good so I went to the vitamin shoppe and scored some military grade zinc.

..... and THIS is where that was coming from.

Early on, many docs suggested the heat (and the arrival of summer) may make it much harder for the virus to spread, similar to the flu. Haven't seen anyone dispute that, but guessing it was only spitballing. I'm pretty sure Australia is getting hit.

Pages and pages back there was an infectiois disease expert on Joe Rogans podcast and he said warm weather siding is completely false.

Mentioned something about the most common coronavirus in humans exists in middle East from camels and it continues to thrive there in over 100° weather

We have been testing Chloroquinine for several weeks in many labs worldwide. The biggest claims come from China, and Western medicine wants to check things out fully. The medicine is approved for two other health problems, but it's US policy NOT to just wildly approve until things get clinical trials, AND proper levels of dosing can be estimated. In critical cases of individual doctor judgement, these sorts of drugs CAN already be used, but not with open FDA approval.

Obviously the thing is not a "cure", as places using it on humans (ex. China) would be very different.

We're pretty much burning all red tape in regards to proper protocol on developing treatments

My salary was just cut by 50% so yeah...fuck this.

For the time being or just until this is over?

I have a similar fear. Left what woulda been a cushy job during this time few months back and now work for a company that has 10 employees... fine for now but some of our biggest clients are gyms and they are panicking.

Just learned one of my largest sites in Columbus, IN will be shutting down for two weeks starting tomorrow and the plant up in NY is probably soon to follow.

I'm negotiating with the customer on how to handle the "sick" or "shut down" paid leave. My hope is they'll agree to be billed but at a discounted rate - just enough to pay our folks along with covering taxes and insurance costs, not for profit - we'll see what they respond with.

My company isn't going to agree to anything where we take a loss, so the break even is the best we're going to be able to offer, and that's only because of the crazy circumstances. If they customer doesn't accept then they'll be a lot of unhappy folks going without a pay check for at least a couple of weeks.

The whole economic relief seems really weird, considering most people effected haven't been out of work more than a couple weeks at most

I wonder If you still get it If you owe back taxes?
I also wonder If they'll do what they did in 2001 when Bush tried to stimulate the economy with some cash handout? This was before 9/11... It was June/ July.
The following year when we all filed our taxes the stimulus cash was taken from our refund check when we all needed it and planned on it.

We have 35 cases reported in NM... We are FINALLY getting tests down south in Las Cruces so I am assuming that number will skyrocket because I am honest when I say I think my Aunt/Uncle/Nephew have it.

But with that we know how many cases have been reported because the number gets updated everyday... but does that number reflect those that have had it and no longer do? I am just curious how many ACTIVE cases there are.

From what l I am hearing from people working on this in California, is those numbers are precise with our current trajectory. They do not take into account any mitigation tactics that are being employed in some areas. I am thinking he will shut down the state now.

So they’re projecting the state of California is going to end up with 25.3 million more cases than have been confirmed globally?

I’m far from calling this thing a hoax, but these numbers are ridiculous. It’s fear mongering.

I just read through some material on Family First Coronavirus Response Act. Has anyone else dug into this yet? From what I’ve interpreted, the 80 hours of FMLA required to be paid out is going to greatly exceed the rate increase of unemployment for my company. If I can’t move up shipments for next week, I’m going to be forced to advise my boss to close us down and ride this out.

If you develop emergency warning signs for COVID-19 get medical attention immediately. Emergency warning signs include*:

Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath
Persistent pain or pressure in the chest
New confusion or inability to arouse
Bluish lips or face
*This list is not all inclusive. Please consult your medical provider for any other symptoms that are severe or concerning.

Spoke to my surgeon friend for 32 mins today. His workload is lightening until Tuesday due to canceling any non-essential surgeries.

He still thinks this is wildy over dramatized. Says the mortality rate is a joke. In many cases, especially in dense cities they only test you if you have severe symptoms and that's what the "mortality" rate is built off of.

Medium or mild symptoms, not getting a test in most cases. So for the worst of the worst the mortality rate is 1%?

Yes I believe the rates have been discussed quite a few times. There are far more infected than being reported due to the reasons you've mentioned as well as the additional individuals who are completely asymptomatic.

I got food poisoning after eating Mexican food at a mexican restaurant.... am I racist because I got poisoned unintentionally? It's a restaurant that closed down because of faulty procedures in their food care.
I hope I'm not racist for getting sick... Silly ass times.

I'm getting embarrassed for these reporters who are spending so much time on this. GTFO with anything but serious health care questions.

Does she think we are so stupid that we actually think he means Chinese ethnicity?

Good, he shut her the fuck up:
