As densely populated as India is, I’m amazed at how less affected they are. What little info I’ve found said that most of their infections (not all) were a result of Italian tourists.

Also, I haven’t heard/seen anything on how COVID-19 is affecting the continents of Africa or Australia. Is it b/c they’re in warmer regions of the world?

Early on, many docs suggested the heat (and the arrival of summer) may make it much harder for the virus to spread, similar to the flu. Haven't seen anyone dispute that, but guessing it was only spitballing. I'm pretty sure Australia is getting hit.

Similar boat to you. We ended up having a one game season, and my team this year was loaded. Everyone was holding out hope we'd resume after a month or so off but it's clear this is all going to drag out at least through Easter and probably through June.

On top of that, my old HS has their best team since I was there and was the favorite to win the conference championship for the first time in decades... same story. I feel so bad for the seniors.

Breaks my heart man. My son is a senior this year. Played summer travel in CLE for many years. Travelled back and forth several times a week for practice/ games. Spent weekends in CLE playing tournaments. Played tourneys in SC, KY, OH, WV, MD, NC. Was 2nd Team All Conference Freshman year (in a Conference that seldom allows freshmen to even get a sniff of the field), 1st Team All Conference Soph, 1st Team All Conference Junior year. This was his swan song as he has elected to explore avenues post high school. All he was looking forward to was 14 to 16 games of baseball to close out an amazing baseball career. Now, it is obvious that the last game I will ever get to see him play was in 2019. There are no words to tell him. There's no comforting him. There's no saying,"Its OK". He's pissed and he as well as other seniors across the nation in any sport have been robbed of one of the last moments of "kid life". Hell, there may not be graduation. Prom? Doubtful. How do you tell a senior that you don't get your moment? Im sorry for all the coaches who have posted. I know how you feel.

Especially because they work SO HARD to get to this point. All the offseason grinding, conditioning, captain's practices, etc. Just to get robbed of it for something completely out of their control.

Just saw Trump in a presser. Said an existing Malaria drug was have very promising results. If viable, that would be a game changer.

Exactly. Passion was built over many years. Some for most of their lives. Now in one week, you've had all the things a senior would normally get to participate in, enjoy, look forward to taken away. And he is a smart kid. He knows the gravity of what is going on and there are thousands and millions who have had their lives change and are currently fighting this virus off and have it MUCH worse than he does. But, it is not fair and Im sure he's handling a lot better than I would.

Indiana says currently all our hospitals have had no issues with equipment or crowding. They do believe there are 2/3 hospitals that could run into equipment issues in the next 96 hours, but also believe they are ahead of getting these issues addressed before its an actual problem.

Hospitals potentially running into equipment issues before we even know the true severity of the issue, every doctor I know imploring everyone to just stay home, graphs show that we track closer to Italy than anything...

And you still have dunces out there telling people that it's not a big deal.

(I guess I was the failure of my social circle, as three of my pretty good friends are doctors, and they all say that if people don't start buying into the 'voluntary quarantine' thing, this is going to get baaaaaaaaaaad)

I'd personally like to see us use this opportunity to start aggressively decoupling from China.

He closed all the bars down yesterday I think. It's not just FL either. Padre Island and Havasu (is on the AZ/CA border / Dammed the Colorado River in TX are/were packed from what I've seen. Saw vids from Marina del Rey in Cali as well. Orange Beach in Bama... etc..

Honestly, aside from closing down the beach and bars, what are they going to do? Kick them out of their hotels and condos? Think the kids are all going to stay in their rooms and apply social distancing lol...

Woke College Millennials.

They basically shut Havasu down a few days ago between the Gov & their local govenment. My Chick's Aunt & Uncle live there and said it's pretty much cleared out. It's advertized to go until the 30th but there's nothing I could find on Twitter besides this guy ordering sushi.

Ugh. Was that a carp? It's a challenge for a skilled chef to make those bottom-feeders taste palatable. Can't imagine what that would taste like raw.

Think I saw that Tom Hanks got it in Australia.

What is amazing is that China can get away with doing this kind of world bending crap and walks away no more the worse when it is all said and done. You had the SARS virus from China. You had the Chinese drywall crap in America where China intentionally sent over toxic crap that they KNEW was being put into homes and nothing happened.

At what point is the world going to use common sense and blackball these heartless bastards? You watch, this will end and China will right back selling to the world their toxic crap and we will be buying it up with a smile to save a buck.

Worse than the fish... the cameraman is drinking Crown Royal Peach. Hard no.

I'll take a warm 40 of skunked OE8 before that swill

A suggestion to all for you and/or your loved ones is to fill out a Power of Attorney for Health Care. They can be obtained on-line and it needs to be notarized. That's part any family planning and good sense in case you are unable to make decisions on your own. It is revocable at any time.

Kudos to those selflish healthcare professionals who continue to go in daily and treat those with known diagnoses of COVID 19.

Has she been (& I assume still taking) hormonal therapy now? What stage? As a husband, son & son-in-law to nurses, I applaud your daughter. When you need a critical thinker on hand, it’s hard to beat an RN. Prayers for her safety.

I assume she is, but don't really know. Her husband works with me. I can tell he's on edge. Tried talking to him today to calm him down some. Appreciate the thoughts. Their oldest girl had the spring semester cancelled so she's heading home.

Can't speak for others, but at her hospital, they are ready. I know a hospital in Ft Wayne also turned a second floor into an isolation area s they are ready as well.

i will say there was no specification on which hospitals. These are most likely small rural community hospitals that are not part of a larger system.

I went to a 24hr Superstore last night hoarding some pasta and they said all Walmart's across the country are closing at 8:30p starting tonight.
