But but he was wearing a mask! Haven’t we been led to believe that nothing can penetrate these facial maxi pads? I don’t understand the uproar.

So you agree that all of the mask wearing is doing very little because probably not 1% are doing what you state?

Unless you're doing some good old fashioned trolling, which I would applaud, this is downright embarrassing. This is Bama-level intellect.

You are a graduate of Notre Dame who used to beat up Law students. Act like it!! Bro I’m having fun at this point. After all these months I know where people sit on the subject here. Stupid stunt? Probably. But let’s remember the guy is surrounded by secret service agents 24/7. I’ll go ahead and assume they were going to be quarantined anyway after such at risk exposure.

I work in one of the zip codes DeBlasio is shutting schools and businesses in again. I’ve been first hand dealing with this shit since day 1. Forgive me for trolling a bit .

Say what you want about the US, but I don't think we'd let Excel prevent us from reporting 15K cases

By the time this year closes we may be closing in on 300,000 deaths. That is 0.1% of the country's population.

The Trump admin took control of data reporting away from CDC so I dont think we can say anything at all. I dont even believe the numbers that are coming out anymore. I just cant.

There was no reason to do this. The CDC has always been the agency to collect and maintain the data. The only reasons this happened is so the admin could control the data.

And considering Trump thinks more testing causes more positive results.... the narrative must be controlled.

It was moreso a knock at the UK just using Excel for this. I would think a database that is going to house millions of test results and outcomes would need more than excel. I'd like to think the US/ most states here are using a bit better software than MS Excel lol.

Remdesivir, Dexamethasone, and plasma are a standard cocktail for semi-serious admissions. That being said, if the patient's o2 sats are unstable, they'll start it right away. Current research has shown that a 5-day course of Remdesivir given early in the infection has resulted in significantly better outcomes at day 11 than a 10-day course, so they're better off giving it early. Dexamethasone is quite common and has been in use for many years.

That being said, Trump did not appear to be at that critical point. The fact that he's an obese 74 y/o with a recent stroke Hx probably played into their desire to get ahead of this (if this turns out to be a legit admission.) I'm still 50/50 that this was a "Wag the Dog" effort.

I have no problem with Remdesivir early and have not heard that that he got plasma, which is probably in short supply. Dex? Really? No ARDS or sepsis? We talked about IL-6 inhibitors. No Zithromax? A couple of dips to 93% only? He does have Johns Hopkins docs. A confusing picture. Maybe he will donate plasma to help others.

He's "gone to school" and learned a lot about Covid? Will he advocate wearing a mask and do so himself. Hopefully, he learned a lot about vaccines and be one of the first in line.

I doubted anyone on this board, especially a first responder, would advocate for not wearing a mask. Stay safe.

Hey don't knock Excel! I think half of my college curriculum was learning how to unleash the power of that program.... which I have definitely not retained.

Not sure if it's common practice down there, but up here we regularly have someone at a store front "shooting" us with a temperature scanner. Even the golf course I was at yesterday shot us.

Fox's propaganda is actually quite amazing. Joh Biden hasn't contracted COVID so he cant relate to Americans with COVID like Trump can (now).

I disagree with that

1. Masks are more for the people who you come into contact with. To not spread your germs and aerosols.

2, Incubation period could be in your body anywhere from 2-14 days.

3. Imagine you having the virus for 2-14 days being asymptomatic or with light symptoms just carrying on.

Imagine instead of talking, sneezing, coughing into the air.
The majority of your very harmful, super contagious aerosols, linger in the air for several minutes to hours

In that time period, How many loved ones, friends, neighbors, co-workers, the person checking you out at the counter.

4. Wear a mask, it's the best we have until these "Miracle drug's sent from heaven", arrive.

Didn’t a college student die recently?

No idea. I saw CDC updated this today so I assume they would’ve counted it. Still pleasantly surprising if the #s shown in the graph continue.

Edit: here’s the detailed references. It addresses both the football player from PA & the young man from App St.

1/ Campus C19 update, 10/5/20: Despite ~70K C19+ tests at 50 major universities, barely any reported hospitalizations (i.e., 3), & no deaths. Ahh yeah, Guillain-Barré syndrome. Anything could have triggered that though, Covid isn't the cause of death. My wife took care of a lady who was a quadriplegic after getting a flu shot. The vaccine triggered her Guillain-Barré syndrome, which she didn't know she had, and doctors were unable to reverse the damage before they realized it.
