SO I swear we had a "Conspiracy Theory" thread somewhere but can't find it... if we do have one can a mod gladly move this post over there please??
Okay, so yeah,… I’ve been a spinning head for the last 24 hours and have thought about it. I just have to share a story (No freaking way am I sharing extra details, so please don't ask,... even without them it's still a really good story). Important to note, I’m not a big conspiracy guy and have even laughed at numerous conspiracies on this board over the years. My basic stance it’s for people with far too much time on their hands, although I will admit that they ALL can’t be bunk and maybe a select few may have something to them.
So to tell this I have to back up… My father retired last year but worked the last ten or so year of his professional life as a Gov. contractor working at various Gov. facilities in California. He worked as second in command of a crew that would bounce around together on various sites, air bases, prisons, depots, you name it. He is a very by the book, straight edged guy, bookish, a lot like me without the goofy sense of humor. He too laughs off most conspiracy stuff… BUT, he does love to tell this story, and insists he truly believes it.
He tells it like this: About three years before he retired (four to five years ago) an older, kind of eccentric guy joined his crew. He describes him as a real world version of Randy Quaid from Independence Day. The guy shows up, big character and states he worked for the Gov for years but recently saw something in his prior position that caused him to step down and move to California. He won’t give any more details but alludes to the fact that he’d fear for his safety if he did share his story many times. Of course my father and his crew needle him over this off and on for about a year and a half. He told me they’d say stuff playfully like, “When you going to tell us where they buried Hoffa??”… “So you saw the UFO crash site huh?”… “You stumbled on Obama’s re-education camps?”…. on and on and the new guy just laughs it off as best he can. Until way day he just cracks, for whatever reason. My dad has said he doesn’t know if he knew something or was just being a human being and had one of those days or what, but this particular day he proceeds to tell my father and his crew this story about this facility and what it’s really used for (I’m not sharing details just in case … the last 24 will explain why). My father goes home and shares this story to my mother that very day and she promptly rolls her eyes at him. That would have been the end of it but a few days later my father’s co-worker was killed in a single car accident. My father then shares the story with me and says he thinks he may have been killed. I have the same reaction as my mother, state it’s all a coincidence, there’s no freakin way this over the top story is true, and for the better part of two or so years my family has had this inside joke about this ‘dangerous information’ that my father was supposedly told. It becomes this real running jag at my father’s expense. Until yesterday…
So, I work for a private University here in Cali and yesterday we are having a kind of ‘educational consortium’ with a few other schools. We basically meet with those in similar positions, share what works, what doesn’t and hopefully improve the process for everyone… At this meeting I kind of buddy up quick with this 40 something guy from another school. We both work the same exact position, we both come from the same background professionally (K-12 public education, to higher ed. Now in administration), we’re both cfb fans, so we click. He’s very out-going and personable.
After talking with this gentleman for a number of hours off and on, we come to a break in the consortium. I see him outside our main building by himself and walk up and I ask him if he’s ready for the holidays and he turns white. He proceeds to inform me that this will be the first holiday season without his twin brother who was killed earlier this year. We share the condolences and such, I share the experience of dealing my niece’s murder hoping it may help him a bit. Then out of nowhere he says something to the effect of, “You know what, I like you, I’m going to get something off my chest here…” and proceeds to tell me a bit of his brother’s story. I’m thinking, “Oh boy, I didn’t ask for all this…” and then he states his brother worked at.. you guessed it, the SAME EXACT facility from my father’s story. That peaks my interest. He continues on, barely catching my change in interest. He tells me his brother was poisoned early this year and the case of who and why is unsolved. He shares that when his brother died the will left the contents of a deposit box to him. It was just typical heirloom and pictures and stuff aside from a letter detailing his experiences with this facility. The story this that this letter laid out in regards to the goings on there matched my father’s story perfectly… and it scared the living shit out of me. Last thing he told me on this topic. The letter was dated the week of his brother’s death. According to this guy his brother saw some things the week prior to his death that he was never supposed to see, wrote it down just in case and then just in case happened. I could not make this shit up…
So yeah, maybe… just maybe there’s something to some of this stuff?? Or I’m on the most elaborate candid camera prank freakin ever… lol
