Can't we all be happy with a New Years six bowl game

Objectively superior? Most people on here have us losing to Stanford! We beat Wake Forest by more than anyone but UNC (including Clemson). Never trailed, 3 score victory. And ESPN still said it was bad because we were "out gained" as if that matters in a 21 point victory. Like WTF is this standard that only we get held to?
We put up more yards than anyone on BC (out gained! yay!) and lead by 2 scores pretty much the entire game. It looks ugly because we have a bunch of bad turnovers. Fine.
MSU gets a complete pass for their half dozen shitty, close victories though over TERRIBLE teams? Really???
ND is objectively superior to every one of the schools ranked ahead of us in at least some metrics. But somehow the committee is allowed to just say "meh, eye test, go f*ck yourself" and that's fine?
I have no defense for Michigan State. Iowa is undefeated, so that is what it is. My point was mostly about Oklahoma. If we played Kansas or K-State, we'd win by 8.
No, ND SHOULD blow Kansas' doors off. We'd give up a punt return touchdown or garbage time touchdown or fall for trick plays or fumble twelve times. We'd find a way to keep it close.I've watched a fair amount of Kansas this year. ND would blow Kansas' doors off.

Complaining about MSU or Iowa is an absolutely pointless exercise as once one beats the other, they will be in the playoffs and they will deserve it. So let's just move on from that.
Oklahoma jumping us this week really sucks as I don't get how they proved so much in this one week to make the jump. But perhaps it's a culmination of ND just not showing the committee it can look like a top 5 team, final scores be damned.
When I watched Oklahoma play Baylor or before their QB got hurt against TCU I was like damn, they are fucking good.
When I watched us play Wake, BC, and Temple, I thought we looked pretty blah.
If I wasn't an ND fan I would have turned off the BC game after probably 5 minutes. It was a terrible game. Committee probably saw that and was like, can we really put that team on television on NYE?
How was business NOT handled against Wake Forest when we beat them worse than Clemson? We beat them worse than ANYONE has besides North Carolina. So out-performing 11 out of 12 teams is now a bad team?
ND is the only team where you can beat a team by 21 points... beat them worse than pretty much anyone has the whole year... and have the ESPN personalities talk about how you "looked bad" because you were out gained.
It's completely inconsistent bullshit.
So if Oklahoma State beats Oklahoma do they pass us?
I don't think anybody cares who did what against Wake Forest. Or Texas. Or even Navy or USC. As Olympia said at the top of this page, you get in the playoffs by beating the best team on your schedule. If you don't do that, you've got an uphill fight.

1. We have had opportunities to project ourselves as a power team, and I don't think we have done it. Missed opportunities vs WF and BC, and really didn't play well in either game.
2. Kudos to the team. They have had a great year despite a string of potential events that might have turned the season into 5-5 instead of 10-1. The players that have stepped up to fill the shoes of the starters is amazing, and the results impressive.
3. Coming into the season, I would take 10-1 after 11 games any day.
4. One game to go. Gotta take it to Stanford, we can win IF we play a complete game, which we haven't played for some time. Turnovers & special teams usually rule the day.
5. If we win vs Stanford, there is a chance we earn a playoff spot. If not, we earn a NYD bowl game. I'm good with that.
6. If we lose vs Stanford, we still probably earn a NYD bowl game. Good with that, especially if we go out and win to end 11-2.
7. Continue to recruit and build depth. Coach & staff are way ahead of previous regimes in this aspect. We're getting better, but not sure if we truly are up with the big dogs....yet.
8. Witnessed wins vs Texas, GT, and USC. Couldn't ask for more. Should have arranged for Stanford game back when I had a chance, think ND will show up and win.
9. Glad I live in Texas, and not in Syria, Iraq, or the other killing fields...Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Iowa's chances should be 0%; same as their odds of beating Michigan State.
I'm not saying it will happen, but Iowa could absolutely beat Michigan State.

Basically, and I am not exaggerating, Will Fuller--who got us to 10-1--cost ND the playoff with his poor hands.
I think that is stupid. This whole beauty pageant crap is too much.
But who knows what will happen this week?
