Bruce Jenner receiving the Arthur Ashe courage award is ridiculous, and I'm ashamed that ESPN selected him over more deserving recipients.
How's that?
Must be his day off.

That wasn't my point and you know that. I'm not using Bruce Jenner as evidence against ESPN bias. I'm using Bruce Jenner as evidence that I'm not immune from openly criticizing ESPN just because I work here. When I say "ESPN treats Notre Dame fairly," it's because I think ESPN treats Notre Dame fairly. At least have the stones to debate me on the facts instead of dismissing my opinion as illegitimate.Bruce Jenner doesn't have his own ESPN Network.

I don't give a sh*t about finances. I give a sh*t about ESPN personalities deciding the tone and the general feeling around college football. They create a false reality surrounding the SEC. Every week, we hear "this guy could play in the SEC" or "they wouldn't hold up against an SEC schedule" and IT IS BULLSH*T.
Bowl season this past year finally brought it to light, thank god. Ole Miss and Mississippi State rode the "SEC Wave" straight to the top of the poles... but then we found out that they weren't very good, and neither was the rest of the SEC West... and yet, they get all of this credit for beating up on eachother because of the PERCEPTION. And who creates that perception? The jackwagons at ESPN who are in bed with the SEC.

ole miss ooc schedule is embarrassing.
Just because you didn't SEE SportsCenter cut-ins does not mean there weren't any. In case you hadn't noticed, The Open Championship was pushed into a Monday final round and mucked up the entire lineup on ESPN. Right now, live on SportsCenter, Jimbo Fisher is speaking. Has been for quite some time. Gus Malzahn coming up next.
I don't have a problem with their out of conference schedule being cake when they play Bama, Auburn, Florida and Miss State all as away games.
At least they get LSU, Texas A&M and Arkansas at home.
So, you are banking on LSU, A&M, Arky and Florida to have better years and for MSU to replicate their season even with significant departures?
I would answer that, but I honestly have no idea what your question is here...
FPI is a mathematical metric. There's no possible way it can be biased. Saying FPI is biased is like saying ESPN is pro-Tigers because Miguel Cabrera is batting .350.The SEC bias is real,,,, Texas A&M and Arkansas?
I love how full of shit you are. There's a program on RIGHT NOW called "College Football Media Days," and they're broadcasting live with Dabo Swinney.Right. You completely ignored the fact that ESPN dedicated all day coverage to SEC media days for 4 straight days, including College Football Live, and you said to wait until the ACC media days to see what ESPN did, as that would show us what's up, and that there is no bias.
And then, College Football Live comes on yesterday and there isn't even a mention of the ACC...it's just another show dedicated entirely to the SEC.
They sure showed us. You were spot on!
(now, who's the 'fanboii' here?)

I didn't say it was a GOOD model, I just said it wasn't biased. We had an 8-5 season and FPI had us in the top 10 until Golson transferred, but I didn't see anyone bitching about it then. How is going from a 7 and 6 season to preseason top 10 mathematical? ESPN needs to go back to school if that's the case! Did Arkansas have the top recruiting class in the nation? What did I miss that made them so improved from last year, they did just loose two great defensive players to the draft.

@IrishLax seems to have a better understanding of how FPI is calculate than I do. Maybe he can answer. All I know is that "returning starters" is a metric in the preseason rankings and Golson was tagged as our "returning starter" at the quarterback position.
"OUR" like "US" like "WE, the fans of the University of Notre Dame." Not "our" like "we, the employees of ESPN.""Our" ? Are u even a ND Fan?
