I think Belichick has demonstrated his opinion on the need for a good offensive coordinator this past season by hiring two guys who had never really coached offense and naming them co-OC. Not sure there's much for Kingsbury in stepping in to clean up that mess. Bill's probably better off hiring one of his own, and O'Brien needs a job.

Apparently they is something going on With Bethune-Cookman and ED Reed. The school is saying he is stepping down and someone posted some videos on him going on a tangent.

I am sure who is in the wrong but it looks like a bad situation. And I don’t like Ole Neon but hearing him complain about some things at Jackson State who knows what’s going on.

To big name out spoken Black football coaches that could help those universities by name with recognition and financially and it turns out like this for both. Sounds bad for the HBU colleges.

I believe someone on this board mentioned that Joe Brady isn't incredibly keen on recruiting? Would a move back to the college ranks be in the cards with that said?

Things are certainly hard for HBCUs. For another example, better than Deon look at Eddie George at Tennessee St. he is taking the slow work to improve the university, not just the football program. This is a school the state of TN illegally withheld money from for years and illegally prioritized land grant money for the Vola instead. Also noteworthy that the Irish home opener is TN this year marking first time ND has ever played an FCS school or HBCU and creating a nice pay day for TSU. Glad ND is doing this, not sure if Freeman pushed for this or if it predates his tenure.

I still don't quite understand why he left Michigan for that job (I guess money + Harbaugh looking to jump?) but then to be fired after one year? Yeesh. Michigan also looking for an OC again though.

Regardless, hopefully Miami doesn't come back at Rees. Though he'd be nuts to make a lateral move right now with the weapons we have coming back.
