Hartline to OC job at OSU

Good move. A promotion was necessary to keep him from leaving in the coming years. He already had some responsibility as passing game coordinator, so he's not completely raw from an X's and O's standpoint.

Early names for Petey's replacement is G. Schumann and J. Leonhard. I say bring Schumann back home but would be happy with either one.

Kendall Briles to TCU as offensive coordinator.

Arkansas replaces him with Maryland OC Dan Enos.

Are there any examples of former ND players becoming good/great coaches in the modern era? Did Bryant Young (now retired) have some success as a coach? I can't believe there aren't at least a few out there, unless I'm missing someone?

Anthony Weaver is on his way to that.

Bryant Young was a positional coach for a bit at the NCAA level with San Jose State and Florida, and with Atlanta in the NFL. I believe he was their DL coach in their Super Bowl year.

Tommy Rees. (ducks)
Anthony Weaver.
Andy Heck. (Chiefs OL coach)

Those are probably the best right now. I guess Autry Denson was recently let go at Charleston Southern. Was he the only head coach on our alums list?
