at some point it gets to be next to impossible to improve due to humor error
Can't believe I did that this morning
Totally missed it.at some point it gets to be next to impossible to improve due to humor error
Totally missed it.Makes sense. Where does Strong land?
DC (and head coach in waiting?) at Notre Dame. Do it.
Strong is a great dude - I'd be happy to have him. From a BLM perspective it would be great to see him have success and kill the abused Ty Golfingham narrative.
Love to be a fly on Swarbrick's wall and hear the conversations he is having - both who he is reaching out to and how long some of the conversations are. If he isn't gauging interest of folks like Strong and Miles I would be disappointed.
My understanding is that TW's race played some role in the decision to hire him. If so, it should be a valuable lesson- making that a factor in hiring can only lead to problems. Let's hope the PC bros at ND don't make the same mistake again.
There was intense pressure from the media to both hire TW and not to fire him.
It's so ridiculous because there are so many blue bloods that have never had a black HC.
To my knowledge, all these schools have never had a black HC but you never hear anything about it:
Alabama
USC
Ohio St.
Michigan
Clemson
Florida
Florida St.
Auburn
UCLA
Miami
Michigan St.
Arkansas
Georgia
South Carolina
Oregon
Oklahoma
Oklahoma St.
**Again this is just off the top of my head. I might be wrong on a couple of those.
UCLA had Karl Dorrel and The U had Shannon, but yeah... it's crazy, I still hear ND getting attacked as racist from time to time over that stuff... Yet for all those schools that haven't gone down that road..... crickets. Sends a pretty clear message (or at least it did for some time). I am dead certain there are/were ADs out there who saw what happened with ND and TW then later decided against hiring an African American head coach bc they wanted no part of the circus if that coach failed and they were forced to fire him...
And msu had Bobby Williams and ou had John Blake.
The above wasn't a very good list.
Would he even want to be DC at Notre Dame after being HC at Texas? I feel like some smaller P5 school with lower standards than texas would love to have him as HC. Id be thrilled to get him as our DC if possible
Why would Strong want to be a DC/HC-in-waiting after he's been the HC at Louisville and Texas?
That's like saying Tim Cook will take a SVP job at Samsung because they promised he'll be the CEO in 3 years.
Srsly guys, wtf???
I posted this exact same sentiment yesterday and was assured by dwshade that it would be better for Strong to take a DC position and that he most certainly would definitely 100% assuredly not take a lower tier HC position....
If CS gets let go, I cant imagine him taking a DC position at any power 5 school other than what Muschamp did taking a one year position being paid the highest amount of any Coordinator ever. Short of that Strong probably does not work for a year or takes a lower tier job opening ad HC and he is not coming to ND to be a DC IMO.
BK probably aged about 5 years during USF.... and another 10 during EG's disaster season post Florida State.
Can you imagine Tom Herman with Alabama's commitment to football? Jesus Christ Monkey Ballz that's scary.
Honestly, if I were him, I'd go to USC and beat the hell out of the PAC 12 by picking my So Cal guys every year and then whatever national recruits were interested. How often is he going to go head-to-head with another regional power for a recruit? At Bama he'll still have to do that with other SEC teams like Georgia, Auburn, LSU, etc. Take the school that has no other regional competitors and is a household name. No brainer.
Are you serious? The guy has been a head coach for 19 games and you're making it sound like he'd be an upgrade over Nick Saben. His best win is over a #14 ranked team. The guys seems like he's going to be a very good coach but this is insane.

BK went in Sun Devil Stadium looking California, left feeling Minnesota.
He's not going anywhere to be a DC unless it's in the NFL.
Some of that is just genetic... let's be real, there are exceptions but our African American brothers and sisters tend to just age better than our Anglo ones....
