My timing was a bit off... I was responding to a much earlier post. I should've quoted it. In my defense, I worked all night and just woke up, so my brain is still stuck in 1st gear, I'm on my first cup of coffee, and I'm struggling to remember my name at the moment.

Butch Jones won't make it long. The UT folks are up in a rage.

Texas A&M and Nebraska are still roasty toasty.

I wonder if Mike Leach gets a big program offer at the end of the year.

Leach might be a good fit at A&M. Highly doubt Jones, Riley or Sumlin survive the year.

Would Nebraska take the crazy that comes with Leach? Would love to see him there (especially with a Diaco defense). A&M would for sure if they thought he'd win for them.

Thanks. Tennessee blew it big time when Kiffin up and left. All they had to do was give the job to David Cutcliffe. But the idiot AD at the time told Cutcliffe he would have to interview for the job which he rightfully considered an insult given his 18 year history with UT. So he said no and now UT has gone through the Derek Dooley and Buitch Jones years with very little to show for it. Coach Cut would have brought stability to that program.

I'd wager to say Ed Orgeron's seat is burning at this point, as the five-alarm dumpster fire at LSU is in full effect tonight, down 24-7 to Troy late in the game.

Can you really fire a guy after just five games though?

With the money LSU's paying to Miles and with Ed O only having coached less than a season, I can't see them replacing him this soon. I think he'll get a little time, but I don't see him lasting more than a year or two.

Generally, I'd say no...but if you're crazy enough to can Les Miles, only to replace him with Ed Orgeron, I'd say anything is within the realm of possibility.

I hope they have Elko locked down. I would hate to lose him to the coaching shuffle

Ed O should at least get a second year, but yeah LSU fans will be hot.

I'd love to see Mike Leach in the SEC, especially at a program with the disposable income of Texas A&M.

LSU has a good shot at a losing season. Mizzou is the only gimme left. Everybody else should be a pick'em or favorite.

The Ed Orgeron hire was a mistake from the very beginning. They are 3-2 and the overall record for the teams that they have beaten is 4-11. They very well could be on their way to losing 5 games in a row.

@ Florida: probably a loss
Auburn: loss
@ Ole Miss: probably a loss
@ Alabama: they should consider not even showing up for the game

I hate LSU, so seeing them look like ass is great.

I'd be surprised if Leach left for "greener" pastures. He definitely is a dude that walks to the beat of his own drummer. I think he likes walking to work in Pullman every day.

Yeah 15+ years at Texas Tech and WSU now I don’t think he really would care to move anywhere high stress.

What amazes me is that Florida and Ole Miss are hot garbage.

LSU lost...they deserve whatever they get after the circus around the Les Miles firing. How in the world are they and Miss State in the rankings?? Ridiculous.

Sometimes it's painful getting what you ask for... the grass isn't always greener on the other side of the septic tank.

Just about to say this. 12 million? Was LSU afraid of him going to NFL? That is nuts

It's amazing they'd go that high on his buyout. Not only did they know (and everyone else) that hiring him was a big risk, but LSU is in bad shape financially as an institution.

If LSU continues to tank, it will be clear that they need to move on from him ASAP... but that's going to look really bad to residents of Louisiana, when they're spending $12M at a cash-strapped institution to replace a football coach, on top of whatever the next coach gets paid.

Unless that GoFundMe raises the $12 million necessary
