that would be if lea is NAMED def coordinator as elko coached safeties

I think we should get 2...on for S and one for LB (which would be the additional staff spot granted for 2018)
Pretty sure you won’t find a more motivated guy than Lea, having been promoted to DC for the first time.
I am sure he will feel sufficient pressure to perform that will make him 100% committed. Kind of the exact opposite of a hire in the mould of BVG who already knows everything and doesn’t really need to work hard.
These are all good points.....

I was just about to say that... If after 4-8 he wasn't the right man for the job, he shouldn't be the right man today. Not like he grew by leaps and mind as a coach in one year.. I love him as a coach but hes not the right guy to keep this going
Especially the part where he calls another poster asinine.
Snoop backing Kuenhja is good.
What?????
Graciously disagreeing with Koon is more like it.
Besides I have had my MBA for 15 years which makes me the smartest and best looking poster on here.
As long as you are confident (don't mean you literally) that he can do the job. I agree with this assessment. If possible, he'll probably work harder than he ever has before.
Pretty sure Tom Rees is holding the extra spot
You don't want Lea coaching LB's?
But I thought Lea was in pictures with Coach E getting off the plane at A and M?
Title of DC at ND has to outweigh some of the money A&M would offer. Plus you've just taken your next step in the coaching evolution.
Given the early report that he was heading to A&M with Elko and now no announcement gives me reason to believe they may be working on something for Lea.
This makes the most sense. I'm guessing he has DC and HC aspirations like most coaches do early in their career. If he stays at ND he fulfills the first of two aspirations. At A&M he fulfills neither and his wait to do so becomes longer.

Here is my resume, as long as we are comparing.... I earned a perfect score on the SAT at the age of six, completed high school in nine weeks at the age of nine, graduated from Princeton University in 1983 at age 10, and finished medical school four years later. At age 14, I was the youngest licensed doctor in the country. After 15 years, I got my CPA for fun and transitioned to the business world. I am now a manipulative, oversexed businessman who always wears a suit and likes women with "daddy issues".

I keep telling you guys I'm not just a pretty face on here.
Why does everyone (mostly Koon) assume Elston isn't happy where he's at and wants the DC job now? The guy could be content with his current position.
Other than Co-DC, what title bump is there beyond Assistant HC? Coach in Waiting, but I don't see the board signing off on that.Yeah, I don't really get it. I'd be shocked if Elston left... more likely than not he's going to get a raise and maybe a title bump of some sort out of this. He's got a very prominent role on the staff as things currently sit and I've heard nothing about him looking around.

So, like NDBoston suggested (I believe), will ND give Lea .1 more than Elko’s yearly?![]()
Would be a nice "f*ck you" to Elko, but there's no way to justify that based on this resume. Lea has already won the lottery here; it doesn't seem like he was on anyone's radar for an elite coordinator role, and he basically backed into the ND job because Elko f*cked us over with him being one of the only options for maintaining momentum within our current system.
