Also - saying a name does not make them a weapon. Taylor Gabriel is nothing to write home about. Anthony Miller is a second round pick - why do we expect him to be better than Kevin White (other than the fact Kevin White has done so little). Is the sixth guy taken at any position that much of a sure thing?

WR is thin and more unproven than fans and promoters want to admit - yet people make claims they have one of the best WR corps in the league? Maybe if they went and rented Dez for a year but this is serviceable, not elite. 200 yards and zero TDs in five games played for White, but he is a game changer?

RB behind Howard, pretty sketchy. 5'6" 180 pound Tarik Cohen gonna pick up the slack if Howard gets dinged up?

I don't know anybody who claims the Bears have one of the best WR corps in the league. It's certainly way more talented than it has been since 2014. Gabriel isn't a Pro Bowl player, but he's a good complementary guy, and Miller is a rookie, albeit a highly talented one. Between those guys, Allen Robinson, and Trey Burton, that's a huge talent upgrade pass-catching wise. Dez has nothing left, bringing him in would not move the needle at all.

Replacing Howard will be hard, as I imagine he won't want to come back for cheap, and the Bears probably shouldn't spend too much to bring him back. But Pace has consistently drafted very well in the middle rounds, maybe he'll work some more magic.

Disagree that QB is the Crux this year.. Bears neglected one important part this offseason, and its the offensive line.. That will be the achilles heel of this team.

Eh. The OL was solid last season despite key injuries.

I don't expect it to be a group of Pro-Bowlers a la the Cowboys, but they should be more than sufficient.

Massie is overpaid, but still at least average.

This defense is very fun to watch.. Also, good seeing a 2018 offensive playbook in Blue and Orange. Khalil Mack and Akiem Hicks can't be blocked. That strip sack by Hicks while being held and triple teamed was nasty. Gonna be a fun year.

Guys getting paid and he flat out drops it. Reason why he’s a Cb and nit a WR.
A collapse all around but that guy should get a game ball from the Packers.

Massive choke job by the Bears down the stretch, but this one shouldn't have been close. Homecooking that entire 2nd half.

Pack cheat their way to a win again.

I’m an impartial viewer who was rooting for the Bears, and I didn’t see any cheating lol. Not even really any questionable calls that could have gone either way.

The real reason the Bears lost is because they went empty on a 3rd-and-1 inside the 25 with a chance to ice the game. They ran the ball extremely well the whole drive to get there, then go empty backfield on the most “Show Off Your Testicular Fortitude” down of the game to that point. LINE UP AND FUCKING RUN THE BALL. Even if you get stuffed, the Packers have to burn a timeout.

But instead, they did what so many NFL coaches do, and got cute with their play calling at the worst time.

I posted too soon.. Play calling in 2nd half was garbage. A lot like AFC Championship debacle. Why do you go away from Jordan Howard on 3rd and 1 under 3 minutes in the 4th.. They couldn't stop him. We throw it?? Why? Packers had no more time outs.. If you don't get the first, you still are kicking for the field goal regardless.

All I can say is watch the second TD grab.

If that isn't a textbook pushoff and offensive PI and don't know what to tell you.

Also, if you actually watched the game and didn't see Bulaga and the rest of the GB offensive line pulling Chicago defenders down, then you may need to get some glasses.

Hicks had a B-line for Rodgers and he was literally tackled to avoid Rodgers getting leveled.

Bears offensive playcalling ultimately is to blame, but there was definitely poor officiating that screwed them over in this one. Can't ignore that.

Still, despite the porous playcalling both ways in the 2nd half, it was a step in the right direction compared to last season. This team was nowhere close to competing with GB in Lambeau. Mack and Smith made an impact, but as expected, they weren't able to keep them out there every drive. Getting those two up to speed will be key to this season being a success.

As a Bears fan I saw this coming at halftime. If you're a fan too, you're lying to yourself if you didn't as well. They need a better product before I start caring.

Maybe I'm no longer a fan. Enjoying Sundays not being glued to the TV.

Not at halftime, but that first TD drive, I could feel it.

Give A-A-Ron credit. Even though he's a whiny complainer when he doesn't get his way, he had cojones of steel today. He got absolutely abused in the first half and played basically on one leg the rest of the way and willed his team. It's what great ones do.

Again, this one stung a lot, just because of how it played out. But the Bears are on the right track. Seattle, Arizona, Tampa and Miami the next four weeks. No reason to lose any of those games. Scary thing is that this team is only going to improve as Mack and Smith get further integrated into the defense and Mitch gets more familiar with the offense and his new weapons.

That first half won me back. Yeah it was another gut punch from the Packers but that mayhem from the DL was the best I've seen since the 80's. Won't surprise me if they win 10+.

...and Kyle Fuller can eat a bag of dix.

This.. Young man got paid big big money.. You have to make those plays. They said he dropped 6 sure INT's last year as well. I remember some but not all.

The D line is special. Getting held on every single play. Will be fun to watch when all are in football shape in a few weeks. Also, can we agree, Nick K, needs to be on the pine not in coverage? Roquan will be starting this week I bet you.

They definitely were working combos to get him in coverage against Adams etc. Kwit is a fine LB, but he can't cover receivers, especially not Adams

Holy shit, this is weak. Outscored 24-3 in the second half but yeah, it was the refs. FFS. It was a choke job that the Bears had chances to win. They fell apart. Nothing to do with the refs. Just a piss poor performance by the Bears in the second half.

The Packers had no business winning that game. Rodgers mounting a potential comeback is seemingly inevitable in that situation, which is why I questioned Nagy's play calling in the second half after he called a GREAT first half. You moved the ball on our Defense the entire half, but got REALLY conservative in the 2nd, playing the clock management game instead of stomping on our throats.

I think you guys are in for a surprising season, though. Trubisky looked great in the 1st half and Cohen/Howard are a very solid 1-2 punch with different skill sets. The defensive line is the truth. I'm not looking forward to the rematch at Soldier in December.
