5th. He drove it well.
Not saying he wan't set up for success, but Bohl has his ups and downs in the program. CK didn't have one "down" in 5 years.

Yeah, Bohl took over a 2 or 3 win D2 team in 2002, two of his best teams weren't eligible for FCS post-season play. Bohl set this guy up real well. I'm sure he's an exceptional coach, we will see how he does in Manhattan.

Has it been mentioned here yet that VanGorder has been picked up on the new Bowling Green football staff?

Plan on attending that game next year. Gonna be fun.

Yeah, we had some fun with that in the BVG thread.

Can't wait! Would love to see BK/Long hang 60 on BVG.

a little surprised it took this long for him to get a bigger gig.

Does anyone know if this is his first FBS job offer? Did he pass up on Group of 5 and hold out for a Power 5?

Interested to see how he does re-building a Power 5 program after essentially inheriting a perfect situation at NDSU, but he didn't do anything to slow the momentum at that program so I think a shot is warranted.

I'm just surprised KSU gave it to him before, say, Temple or the like.

I'm sure KSU probably pays twice what Temple will, but I'd almost want to go to Temple and hop to another program from there. Following BS at KSU is going to be tough. And KSU is a very tall task. And now Kansas has Les...

Looks like Temple is closing in on a deal to make Miami DC Manny Diaz their new head coach. That's a major blow for The U.

I can't think of a coach that's gone from 60 to 0 as fast as Mark Richt has. Losing Diaz isn't going to help.

Does he get to take the turnover chain with him or is that intellectual property of the U?

With Manny Diaz taking the Temple job and Eli Drinkwitz reportedly taking the job at App State, that leaves Akron as the only vacant D-1 HC job available. Unless Lincoln Riley decides to bolt for the NFL, that's a wrap for carousel.

Till Chip Long leaves for Tennessee's OC position...

“The turnover chain, I think will always belong to the University of Miami,” Diaz said at his news conference. “That was never about me to begin with anyway. That was a Miami thing that once it was born, it could never go away.”

it's gonna be the turnover Owl

Only two at this point seem to be mentioned for NFL jobs: our own BK and Lincoln Riley. To me it seems like Riley is the only realistic one to bolt for the NFL.

Mark Richt retiring from Miami

I hear Temple has a pretty good HC

But seriously, that is a huge opening and they just lost a rising HC candidate. There are still a couple good up-and-coming guys who didn't get a spot last time, so they still have some options. I would have loved/hated to see what Kingsbury could have done with all the athletes in Florida.

Also looks like Houston is about to fire Applewhite and go after Holmsgren at WVU.

Edit: Applewhite has officially been fired

Wow, I love seeing Miami in turmoil. Wonder if Kiffin gets a look there?

Unfortunately we're going to get to see what he does at USC. Great hire for them with the history of their QB & WR recruiting.

Wouldn't Houston be a big downgrade from WVU for Holmsgren?

I would think so, not sure why he would wanna go there

Edit: Apparently he still has a house there and is good friends with Houstons most prominent booster.
