Depends if he was positive or just quarantined. If he was a positive test on September 19th, he could return to practice September 30th.

Thursday afternoon, Duke notified the ACC that it would be unable to play Wake Forest on the league’s last competition date of Saturday, Dec. 19. The Demon Deacons game at Louisville is now slated for that day.

Additionally, the ACC has authorized Wake Forest to play a second non-conference game, if necessary to fill its maximum of 11 games.

Not sure why Duke football “can’t” play on 12/19 while the ACC regular season is still open for business. Strange.

Essentially Wakes former schedule with updated notes:
11/21 - @ Duke - cancelled - open date
11/28 - @ Louisville - postponed to 12/19, Wake can seek OOC game on this date to get to 11 games
12/5 - Miami - still on, Miami will have 2 weeks open prior due to their current Covid outbreak
12/12 - ND
12/19 - open - newly slated @ Louisville as mentioned above

Clemson-FSU can play 12/12. If they don’t, then ND needs to opt out of their 12/12 game IMO. Horse shit.

This is actually a good situation for us.

I think it's likely the ACC will come in an nix both games given Wake and FSU don't really matter. The only issue is that Wake might be trying to get bowl eligible (however that works out this year).

Yep, but I'm sure they are using some type of parameter. I'd bet something similar to .500 record, and then sub .500 if they can't fill.

If nothing else, Miami would insist on FSU/Clemson being rescheduled since it could decide whether or not they make the championship game.

Obviously if Clemson Doesn’t play on the 12th the Irish shouldn’t, but I really want them both to play. For one, it’s an extra Saturday to enjoy the Irish. But also, it hopefully won’t matter, but I want to make sure ND wins 10 games this season and for the fourth straight time for the first time in its history. It would also match ‘88-93 for five 10 win seasons in a six year span.

This gives Wake 3 weeks off prior to the ND game on 12/12. It would be their 8th game, and if the Syracuse game is played next weekend, ND's 11th.

Their last game played on 11/14/20 was a 53-59 loss to UNC which halted a 4 game winning streak against Syracuse, V Tech, Virginia, and 0-4 FCS Campbell Fighting Camels.

In my opinion, if Clemson is getting out of playing FSU then Wake should have to play one of their other "makeup" games on the 12th. It is extremely unfair we do not get a bye heading into the ACC Championship game and risk injury to our players.

Totally agree.

I feel ND will have a lot to say otherwise. If the ACC deems this year with ND in the conference as a success ($$$), I'm not sure the outgoing commissioner wants to end on a bad note that may affect the likelihood this happens again. Maybe permanently down the road.

Kelly mentioned in his presser last Monday when asked by Sampson if they were following the rescheduling process, and he noted Ron Powlus's job is to deal with the schedule stating "I'm sure he is all over that one." Between savvy Jack and league wide pressure to reschedule when possible, not just when it's convenient, I am confident it will get played.

I think it had to wait for Clemson to get their home game with Pitt in. Now they already have to go on the road to V Tech next week. I doubt FSU loses their home game and travels to Clemson.

really? I never would have expected the ACC to look out for ND's interest. Maybe they want us to join up. Is this a possibility?

Has this year moved the ND fanbase at all re joining the ACC?

You know damn well if we wanted in they'd take us in a heartbeat.

Nope, give me the ACC Championship and undefeated in conference play and go back to being independent. Shut everybody up who slams ND for not being in a conference saying their schedule is weak without it (which we all know is BS).
