Poor man's Elijah hood.
Perhaps, but he is a great RB. If you look at Hood's SR tape, sure he's a "poor man's etc" but don't disrespect a ND commit like that ever. How would you like if I, or others, called you a "poor man's" 'plumber' or whatever it is you do??? Don't disrespect ND commits.

A healthy James Aldridge.
And you need to chill out a bit new guy haha.
"Poor Man's" isn't always a bad thing. It's a way for people to converse and make comparisons. Koon wasn't disrespekin anybody.
Who thinks he made up his mind this morning?
Who thinks this was scheduled for today?

Not sure how to not take it as a bad thing. Not a slam at you Koon, I've just always hated that saying. Basically the statement is saying you're not rich enough to get the real thing so you settle for a cheap knockoff. A lot of people on here use that statement.
They don't make very many Elijah Hoods around the country, so "settling for a cheap knockoff" is reaching a little too far into the use of "Poor Man's..." IMO.
It just means that he's a similar player, but not as talented. That's not an insult, it's an observation.

I love it when ND pulls in "local" kids. I doubt he ends up as the next *insert name here* as far as RBs go but football in Indiana isn't as big as in some other states. That doesn't mean there aren't some talented kids but it isn't typically a recruiting 'hot bed."
I didn't follow WBB much until Skylar Diggins committed and I think it's very cool that she and Daniel Smith, also from the area, eventually formed a relationship. Complain about the sporadic success for the football team in the last twenty years but the school brings people together from all over and seems to form bonds that will likely never be broken.
I'm hesitant to call him a "poor man's Hood", because this kid has yet to play his junior season. I think we had Hood's junior film by the time we started heralding him as Bus 2.0 or whatever.
I like what I see in Stepp, and if he's really 6'0 210 as a sophomore going on Junior, that's very reassuring. Kid has the makings of a beastly RB down the line with a lot of room to grow. I like his all around game.
As for his competition, normally I'd be a bit hesitant to buy into his film, but IIRC, Cathedral isn't your average Indiana school and they play a rigorous schedule year in and year out with plenty of top level Midwest schools.

Still don't understand how no one else sees James Aldridge.
Not sure what you mean by this. Like a healthy James Aldridge? He reminds me of a face value James Aldridge.
