Anyone object to me changing the thread title to "Brian Kelly's Ego"?

So my recording ended right after cam fumble. Go to espn site to see OT loss lol. 3 drives before cbrown fumbled I was asking myself, I wonder what the % is for drives/plays that brown is in that have resulted in turnovers/ punts. So yea 1 of you stat heroes look that up. Tds/turnovers 3rd down efficiency with n without brown. As far as kelly, ive already said my peace. The 2 pt try was laughable, just like 60% of his play calls this game.

In order of most lol wut to least lol wut:

1. Going for 2
2. Not kneeling
3. Jet sweep
4. Not playing Redfield
5. Subbing in cold Cam for Folston
6. Calling timeout before field goal try
7. Pass, Pass, Pass in overtime
8. Failing to hurry up the snap after jet sweep play

Probably forgetting some things.

Kelly has a quick trigger to throw anyone and everyone under the bus for this blunder, but fails to take any responsibility. "A coin flip" on whether to go for two or one?? What ever happened to being a man and accepting the fact you made a mistake and leaving it at that. He has an excuse for every damn situation. Is this the man to lead young men? He's probably better than most of the scumbags, but the best turd of all the turds is still a turd. The guy gives me douche chills every time I listen to him talk.

I will forever be a believer that you can not be the HC and the head play caller in college football these days. If so, you better be prepared to have other phases of your team struggle. Maybe it is time for BK to give the play calling up and be the HC.

We tried that already...

Well... here is where I am with that. Last year when the offense struggled, Kelly wasn't the play caller. When it did well he was the play caller. I got the feeling he was playing both sides of the fence. Took credit when it was good... deflected when it was bad.

Multiple games now he has shown he doesn't know the math for when to kick versus not kick for field goals.

Calling WR sweeps at the goal line is absurd. Throwing the ball so much when Folston is getting 7+ a carry is equally absurd.

And worst of all, he never gets the team up to snap the ball quickly on plays that might be reviewed.

Is it because he takes too much on his plate trying to call plays on top of everything else a head coach needs to do?

Agree with all.

The guy really starts to fade, as the game goes on.

This was a worse loss than Tulsa considering we are into year 5 under Kelly and Northwestern might actually have less talent than they did.

And don't forget, the tragic Devlin Sullivan accident was the week of the Tulsa game, so many of us gave Kelly a pass that week.

It seems he has bought into his own myth.

"I've already said my piece".....

We scored 40 points, so he must have done something right. I'm not saying that he called a good game, or that he didn't make some highly questionable moves, but he didn't stink the joint up, either.

Kelly has to win the last two games and his bowl period. I am just completely at a loss right now. There is no silver lining here. Don't get me wrong, I still believe, but this is a major setback.

Jack Nolan has enough silver "line" linings, for us all.

"The ball just didn't bounce our way?" Huh? Northwestern dropped at least three easy touchdown passes!

If brown doesn't fumble or scores on that sweep, people would be saying that was a good call.

Not when Folston was ripping 5-7 yards a pop. Makes no sense to run that play that deep in. Put a hat on a hat and put the ball in the end zone.

With the talent this team has on offense and considering the opponent was Northwestern, Ty Willingham could have probably dialed up 40 points calling plays today. Brian Kelly is over rated as a play caller.

Well, I do agree, but if that's the case kelly should have never called a pass play. Which I wish he wouldn't have.

But they already called one sweep that didn't work out now you're calling another sweep with a WR who is not a great ball handler to begin with. Give it to Folston and let him do work. Stop being fancy for no reason.

Yeah... wasn't a great set of play calls there but that isn't what got the Irish in the end. Sometimes you are damned if you do and damned if you don't.
