WTF are you talking about dude? Yeah, we were in the national championship playoff conversation just a few weeks ago. Yeah we should have walked out of FSU's stadium with a win over the #2 team. Yeah, our QB was in the Heisman Trophy conversation just a couple weeks ago. But obviously this BK guy has no f*cking idea what he is doing. How he got the job in the first place and into the NC game during his tenure here is just pure luck. Fire his a$$ and bring in someone who wants the job like Weis or that UF guy or maybe even try for Hoke if we're lucky.

What ND needs is an infallible coach who will bring in 5 * infallible players.

I'm selling. The way I see it we have several program size issues and they fall right at Kelly's feet. And he f'ed up big time yesterday.

It's year five and we have a pass happy HC/OC and an inability to impose our will in the run game, even against inferior opponents. Our defense is a sieve and special teams is inconsistent at best.
This sums up my feelings
Better then Charlie but that's a real low bar..

Maybe Kelly watched Jonas run all over the Colts and will have an epiphany. He's a big Belichick fan isn't he?

I am not sure that our O-line can run block like that though. Jonas had a great game but that Patriots' line was opening some really nice holes for him.

In 2011, ND went 8-5 (with a bowl loss). That team had 29 total turnovers. If you recall, those turnovers were almost the entire reason for losing at least 4 of those games. The defense gave up 20.6 ppg. The offense avg 29.2 ppg.

While this year isn't exact, it's resembling that of 2011 pretty closely. The defense is giving up more points, but the offense is averaging more points. The difference in these games have been turnovers (and TONS of them). ST have obviously played a factor, but in each of the losses, I feel the turnovers have been the ultimate demise.

Turnovers, especially in bunches and at bad times have reared their ugly head numerous times throughout BK's tenure here at ND. It's part of the game. Sometimes you have to credit the defenses. Sometimes it's youth/inexperience. Sometimes it's just bad luck. But I feel like this is getting out of hand. At what point do you shelve your initial plan for the season, take a step back to re-evaluate where your team is at this point in the season, and then re-plan? I mean it's easy for an arm-chair coach, like myself, to spout off a bunch of ideas. But I feel like the masses are generally saying the same things: Run the ball more, control the clock, keep your defense off the field, don't air it out because of a QB who's prone to INTs, etc etc. Yet here we are and BK is still trying to score 50 ppg and win even if it means the defense gives up 49. When he first came to ND, he said at Cincy his job was to put butts in the seats. But at ND, his job is to just win. Get back to your initial strategy, coach. Shelve the arrogance. And just win.
