Taking it you don’t know much about Brennan. He don’t have to worry about anything. Anyway, I respect the guy for fighting through his injuries and trying to make one last go of it. Didn’t work out for him so now I imagine he gets busy helping run the family business.

Sounds like Coach did what he had to do: tell an injury-prone veteran that the other guys (including the Arizona State transfer starter) had passed him up. Brennan had tried to portal earlier and pulled himself out of that decision, so it's not like he was committed emotionally. By being told that he was not going to be the starter, he was handed the clear reins to his life choices as soon as possible, it seems to me, which is what I admire in any Coach if the key decisions were properly judged beforehand. It also sounds as if the fans thought that Daniels and the sophomore are both good players.
