Private jet: $20 million
New head coach: $100 million
Hiring a Midwest coach who develops a southern draw more quickly than assembling a staff: priceless

This post was brought to you by Mastercard, the official sponsor of LSU football..

I'm happy to see Kelly is off to a strong start with his roster. Sounds like the team "bought in".

Apparently not interested in playing for Kelly, DaColdest Crawford has decommited from LSU.

Decided to watch a quick highlight reel of his, since I haven't heard his name mentioned in ages. His HS QB looks like our starting OG when I played in high school. THICCC

I, too, relish in the idea of any talent there bailing on him, because they see through his bullshit.

however, the reality is, whenever an outside coach comes in, there is inevitably some turnover to be expected. That’s most likely what this is.

PFT Commenter is claiming Mike Denbrock is headed to LSU. He's not an insider by any means but I also know he does have LSU sources. Looks like he posted a picture of Denbrock maybe in an airport? Hard to tell for certain.

LSU fans are going to hate it if that happens.

Not terribly shocking. Like you said, LSU fans will likely be disappointed.

They actually won't hate it yet, because if you read their boards it is mostly "I trust Kelly" type posts. They also don't know about Kelly's inclination to hire friends rather than find the best candidate. They will just see him as the OC for the #4 team in the country and be like nice poach Kelly!

They have a lot to learn.

In related news, I was crushed to learn that DaColdest's middle name is actually "Juan", instead of "ToEvaDoIt" as was initially reported.
Kavosiey Smoke should get up with Alize Mack and see exactly whatsup with their names. I think leon Phelps may have had a hand or two in it
While his first name (pronounced kah-VAH-see-ay) sounds like the Courvoisier brand of cognac, he is not named after the alcohol. Smoke told reporters he is uncertain why his mother named him Kavosiey.

“I don’t like my name kind of,” he said in 2019. “… I’m like, ‘Why can’t I have a common name?’ This name is so hard, complicated.”

Denbrock as OC wouldn't be super great, but dude developed the hell out of pass catchers.

Found a few posts about Denbrock on Tigerdroppings. It looks like they would probably skeptical about the hire as a number of posters pointed out that BK basically demoted him at ND and that's why he left. Going to be a tough sell.

Also cooked up some pretty good stuff versus us

BUT... UC also suffered from all the same self-inflicted wounds that ND did when Denbrock was the guy signaling in the plays.

Lack of urgency and rhythm at bad times, delay-of-games out of timeouts, poorly-chosen route combinations on 3rd-and-long, etc.

To be fair, they cleaned a lot of that stuff up over the last half of the season. But I wonder how much of that was Denbrock being on his game, versus how much was due to Ridder being a 4th-year starter, processing things quickly enough to offset some of the problems.

Looks like Denbrock may have just been in town recruiting.

But nonetheless, these guys are in for a rude awakening. I just saw a post on 247 saying yesterday was a "huge win" partly because they signed an elite special teams coach. Polian. They're talking about Polian.

Shop is really clearing. Either BK is cleaning it or the players don’t like what he’s selling after a week. Or both.

Of course that happens, but I'll be damned if I'm going to let you kill my enjoying the moment!

Not that it’s surprising but Orgeron let those kids do what they wanted when he was there so a culture change is needed ASAP. That leads me to think he may have to clean up some messes and also that Stricklin was looking for a guy who was known for rebuilding a program.

I think their fans know they're there to play football... the fans are the ones that Kelly will have to win over... Not sure they're interested in RKGs

I'd say it's the latter of the two. I don't think the prick would "want" to rid himself of that many highly ranked players at once.

Gotta start at some point. Also who knows the BS and promises Ed O sold some of these kids. Unlikely there isn’t a significant mess needing cleaning

That I believe is a L for BK and giant dub for Napier. Someone with a pulse in the SEC East is probably indirectly good for us in the end

Maybe Kelly’s biggest L yet. I don’t think he really expected Rees, Freeman to follow. This and probably Elston are blows.
