Would be funny if Kelly hired him just so that he could fire him... or make him his bitch... or, you know, be a really decent position coach. Either way this cracks me up. No headset required to be a position coach!

Players loved playing for him..... Recruiting wise, once players knew he wouldn't be back, they dropped Michigan in a heartbeat... He was the reason they were going... He can definitely help recruiting, and can coach up Defensive players... I dig it

I hope Kelly said "Who's chicken now, bitch..." to him as he signed his contract.

I'm not sure what role, I'd guess DBs or we move Booker/Elliot around and he coaches LBs or DL with Elston moving or...

Either way, going to be a shuffle. Most of Brady's experience if I remember correctly is on the DL.

I mean, he was a great recruiter at least, right?

Yeah- their '15 class was lights out until Harbaugh came around and ruined it.

+++++

Guess the Hoke's on us now...

DL/LB coach, good recruiter, high effort.

Still gonna take some time to get the lulz out of my system, tho.

I thought he was offensive line coach.

A co-worker played with the Wolverines in the late 1990s. I thought he was their position coach but I can't be sure

Why wouldn't we switch Elliott to secondary, Elston to LB's and have Hoke coach the defensive line. You know... where the majority of his coordinator experience lies?

Soooooo, looks like he'd be best used along the DL....

This is actually a great hire.

But now I've got to figure out how to address this with my friends who have heard my ripping the dude as a head coach for the past several years, and also with my Ohio State friends, with whom I shared many laughs over our common enemy.

This. However, it's a huge difference when comparing him as Head Coach vs Position Coach/Recruiter. The latter is his wheel house.
