I've sworn off Vizio TVs because my roommate had such a bad experience with one in college. It's probably just a one off thing, but it scared me off for good.

I haven't seen a newer one, but the old ones were complete trash. There's a reason that they were 1/3 the price of the competition. They and Westinghouse both were terrible.

I remember the refresh rate on his was so bad you couldn't watch football without screen tears. We thought it was broken until we were told that the TV was accurate to specs. What a waste of money. Thankful it wasn't mine.

Yikes. I have my 37" that I bought used on eBay in 2009 and it's still going strong.

I didn't see any that bad, but all of the Vizios I saw looked like they were playing on a significantly lower resolution.

Wiz, look into the recent Vizios if you're still considering buying them. I've never thought that they lived up to their specs.
