If ND finishes #14, does that mean ASU is a lock to finish 13?

Not my nieghbors. They KNOW Hell is located 12 hours drive up U.S. 31. I get told to go there every Fall.

For 30 years I've gotten a steady dose of Notre Dame are the ****ing bastards that stole 4 games from Bear by having the Pope order the Catholic refs to ignore Irish holding calls or face excommunication.

Then I get reminded of that T'Town Awarded PulitzerPrize novel, "The Missing Ring", where the Notre Dame owned National Media conspired to vote ND #1 to punish the STATE of Alabama for segregation. Cue the soft strains of "The Battle Hymn of The Republic."

My next door neighbor was 5 when his father took him to see the '73 Sugar Bowl. His daddy claimed his son was scarred for life by the papist's win. Curiously that son graduated from John Carroll H.S and UA. He roots for the Irish when they are playing ... except when they The Tide. His wife medicates him on those occasions.

I've had lunch with John Croyle, his wife, and young son Brodie at his Big Oak Ranch. After the blessing, they prayed for an athletic intervention.

And the Auburn fans all know, ... Bear NEVER beat The Irish!

And it still causes their hemorrhoids to flare up on occasion.

T-Town and Bishop... look away...

What never ceases to amaze me is I consistently hear from bama fans about how none of ND’s titles are legitimate… none, they are all some media creation and were stolen from other deserving schools…. My mind melts on that every time. This is ALA-freakin-bama fans complaining about a school claiming titles that somehow rightfully belong to other schools…. Talk about no hope.

If ASU finishes the season 10-2, there is a tiny chance they would still be ahead of us. Even so, a 10-2 record means they'd be playing Oregon (most likely) and losing (most likely) in the P12 Championship, so they'd fall below us eventually.

Although I'd hate to see O$U have a clear shot to the title game, we gotta be rooting hard for Stanford tonight right? Also OU.

I'm pulling for Oregon... at this point ND either handles their business or they don't... as far as the title game goes there are three teams in sports I will never root for, because the fan bases mirror each other and are completely insufferable... two of those are tOSu and Bama… The Ducks winning the title and ND winning whatever bowl they get to at this point would make all things right in the cfb world…

I'm rooting for OU and Oregon. I think it's in our long term interest that Stanford gets as bad as possible as fast as possible.

Not that there was a reason to be worried before, but absolutely no way we don't make a BCS game if we win out now that Stanford is going to beat Oregon.

True.

And I think if Stanford wins out they pass OSU. I really think Alabama/FSU, one will lose and Stanford will play in the NC if they win out.

I don't think Stanford stays ahead of Baylor if they go undefeated.

Doesn't this hurt our BCS chances though? Now we are competing against Oregon along with Clemson and probably a couple others for the at large bids

Baylor will pass Stanford if they keep winning. Their SOS is about to significantly increase with their November schedule.

Also, I don't think a one-loss Stanford passes an undefeated OSU. Stanford's one-loss is a bad loss.

I just don't see Stanford being put over the undefeated teams if it comes down to that. And they really shouldn't be IMO. They lost to Utah. You can't do that and expect to compete for a NC.

Never really thought about it that way but I think we would get picked over either team. OSU and Alabama are probably the only two BCS teams that would draw higher ratings.

I'm already getting in a bunch of arguments from my OSU friends on Facebook. I already bet a few of them Stanford will pass OSU if they win out. Baylor would pass them if they win out, too.

Idk how to factor in Stanford's one loss, but if they do win out, their wins blow osu's wins out if the water. It literally wouldn't be comparable and in my eyes they deserve to pass osu.

Going by these standings and accounting for Oregons loss and assuming everything remains as is the rest of the way:

Alabama vs FSU Championship
Stanford vs tOSU Rose
UCF vs Oregon Orange
Missouri vs Clemson Sugar
Fresno St vs Baylor Fiesta

Depending on the Sugars want/need to select another SEC team.
