Fair enough. I told the story again mostly because I had to add my brother's crazy Burlesque ex to the mix, that was new. Seattle is devoid of wackos save for those two anecdotes.
So, you're admitting you have two anecdotes, and that's enough to defend your stereotype of Seattle?

I know two guys from Indiana that are homophobic a-holes, can I call Indiana a homophobic state?

That's a stereotype of the state. And I have "evidence" to support it.

Do you see how flawed your logic (lack thereof) is flawed?

Literally every financial metric you could find shows that Seattle is booming. And it's not from burlesque dancers. You can "weirdos" in a town of a thousand people. Of course you'll find them in a city the size of Seattle. The only difference is, people have a stereotype of the PNW, and they use shitty anecdotal evidence to back themselves up.

You can call Indiana a homophobic state, you'll get no argument from me.
Lol. You really just can't be wrong, can you?

Ok, I have four coworkers (twice as many anecdotes as you) that are anti-gay marriage.

Based on this evidence, would you conclude that Seattle is anti-gay marriage? (I'm guessing, no, because it contradicts stereotypes about Seattle).

How many airplanes is Boeing building in Chicago?

How many headquarters of Boeing are in Seattle? Did i say something wrong?

I said "based" here. Was it not originally based here?

Boeing: The Boeing Company: General Information

Also, please take a look of the employee breakdown per state, and tell me that the workforce is not based in Washington as well.

Just because it's no longer "headquartered" here, doesn't mean it's not originally based here. And if you use employment count as a metric, it is in fact mostly based in Washington still.

More than half of Boeing's workforce is outside of Washington. It will shift away as the cost of living goes up. Like the 787 plant they opened in Carolina. Sorry. Your only hope is to start building Amazon delivery drones.

You can keep the $5 cups of coffee but I hope you get the Sonics back. That will happen when the next Seattle billionaire decides NOT to buy a team in another town. Maybe when Bezos becomes the richest man in the world he'll do the city a solid.

1) You didn't say anything wrong. However, you missed my key word (and then missed it a second time somehow). I said "Based" in Seattle. It was founded here and Washington has 63,000 more employees than any other state... "below half" sure, you're right, it only has 49‰ of the national workforce (way below half, lol. For comparison, California is 2nd with 9%)

Also, Illinois isn't even listed here. How many jobs are there in Chicago? (serious question) How many planes are assembled in Chicago? (rhetorical question)

2) Only option is Amazon delivery drones? I think amazon alone has other viable options... Lol

What about Costco? What about Microsoft? Are these (and other) companies dying?

3) A grande "cup of coffee" is $2.15ish at Starbucks... Perhaps you meant Latte, mocha, Frappuccino? You can't use those prices and call it a "cup of coffee". That's one, wrong, and two, purposely misleading.

The debate is not whether or not the majority of Boeing is in Washington. The debate was whether or not Boeing is a major employer in Washington. And with over 80,000 employees in the state, you cannot even begin to argue that it's not.

Alright Alright... whatever. So you're kinda right too. lol

You gotta admit though, you didn't know there were more Boeing employees outside of Washington. i had no idea and i know everything as I'm sure you've come to realize by now. ;-)

I'll close with this... if Seattle was so darn great, hordes of them wouldn't be clogging my streets in Orange Co or Scottsdale all winter!

That was fun and I hope the Thunder go out in the 1st round.

You want me to admit that I didn't know Boeing had employees out of Washington?

1) You think I haven't kept up with the jobs moving to OKC and SC? I'm well aware of the company's movements. As is everyone in the state... It's big news.

2) I'm aware of the history of the company. I know the St Louis (McDonnell Douglas) and Dallas were also candidate cities. But, Illinois was willing to pimp themselves out the most, and give the biggest tax breaks.

3) I have an uncle that lives in Plano, Texas and is an engineer for Boeing.

Edit: Also, before you call me out. I'm also aware Microsoft, Amazon, Costco, etc have employees out Washington as well. Corporations tend to do that...

Correct, I'm infallible.

You are correct, I would say no. Your anecdotes do contradict the stereotype. I could also use my ex's work with Equal Rights Washington to support the argument with "faqs and evidents." Washington legalized same sex marriage by popular vote back in 2012, one of the early states to do so. That would lend itself to the state being more progressive in the realm of gay rights.

You just realized you used nonacedotal evidence to support your claim, right?
(which is exactly what you should use while judging a population)

I thought I made peace on the last one? Oh well then.

You want me to admit that I didn't know Boeing had employees out of Washington?
-I didn't ask you that, but you'd sound awfully silly if you did it.

1) You think I haven't kept up with the jobs moving to OKC and SC? I'm well aware of the company's movements. As is everyone in the state... It's big news.
I have no idea how closely you kept up with the job migration to OKC or SC. I also have no idea where that came from(?)

2) I'm aware of the history of the company. I know the St Louis (McDonnell Douglas) and Dallas were also candidate cities. But, Illinois was willing to pimp themselves out the most, and give the biggest tax breaks.
Why are you telling me this??? But yes, Illinois is full of pimps...and farmers...and gang bangers...and now a days, Boeing executives. (Sorry, that's the last shot I promise..

3) I have an uncle that lives in Plano, Texas and is an engineer for Boeing. -What a kawinkydink! I had an Uncle who was an engineer at Lockheed Martin in Palmdale, CA

Edit: Also, before you call me out. I'm also aware Microsoft, Amazon, Costco, etc have employees out Washington as well. Corporations tend to do that...
-I have a Sister who manages an Amazon fulfillment center in Arizona but are you sure about the rest? I didn't know there were Costco's in other states. I'll have to check that out. I hear you can score huge boxes of Lucky Charms there on the cheap!

Make peace? You were still attempting to insult me. Instead of saying I was right, and leaving it there, you had to try and discount me again.

And yes, you literally said, "You gotta admit though, you didn't realize there were more Boeing employees outside of Washington."

You are trying to put words in my mouth, and discount my credibility.

As for your other silly remarks, I'll let them be. You've already lost your credibility, while attempting to slam mine.

Dude! I said "alright, alright, whatever... so you're kinda right too. lol" That was the olive branch!

And yes, you literally said, "You gotta admit though, you didn't realize there were more Boeing employees outside of Washington - than in Washington."

There, fixed it so it's crystal clear.

We already had discussed Boeing employees in Illinois, why would you take it as I was suggesting you didn't know there were Boeing employees outside of Washington state?

Nothing of the kind. I assure you

Blah blah blah... you finished second here. Admit it! lol

And the question still stands, you didn't know there were more Boeing employees outside of Washington than inside or did you reeeeally know it was 49% in WA, 51% outside WA without that quick Wiki search?

You can lie and no one will know but you... and your Priest next confession!

I didn't think I needed any kind of evidence to support a claim that Seattle is inhabited by a bunch of crazy hippies, cause....well...Seattle. In the future I'll try to stick to the facts and avoid the anecdotes.

Thanks fellas. I appreciate you being transparent with your process. You guys also gave Jughed a ton of rope and he simply couldn't help but to hang himself with it. Hell... I even warned him earlier today. Ha

No offense, Beau. It's just a pet peave of mine when mods participate in arguments that lead to a ban.

Pining for a mod spot called..

You just defended a stereotype, by using said stereotype.

Have you been to this city? Do you understand how tech heavy this city is? How intellectual this city is? Would you also then consider San Francisco a "hippie city"?

You're right, Seattle is progressive. And if that makes us," hippies", ok.

Relax my IE brother. Seattle is a great city. Like a lot of others, they have their good points and bad points.

Back to Portland.........My youngest recently moved out there, mostly for the outdoor recreation. He had been out there several times before so he was somewhat familiar with Portland. He's pretty liberal, but in a little over a month he moved back. Gave a homeless guy $5 who started berating him for not giving him more. To paraphrase, "That place is too weird for me".
