This is a great post. I think Koon broke the rules therefore should be punished but to the start of season is a bit much. Maybe until after spring ball is more fitting IMO. Somebody start a poll...what is the proper punishment?

Liking or hating him as a poster because whatever reason is completely irrelevant regarding the ban. And for what it is worth, I think he brings a lot to the board, may not be of value, but entertaining none the less.

I like Koon and i look forward to his return. He brought energy to the board. I'd like to have a beer with him sometime...though it would probably end like many of our family weddings...

The idea of reporting a post has never crossed my mind. Would I know if someone reported one of my posts?

Do you remember when kuenjha reported your post that one time? Chances are he did LOL. So, the answer is no, unless one of the mods felt your post was a problem and you got a PM and/or an infraction, then no, you wouldn't know.

Haha I think LA was just making a joke... I'm not even close to the longest tenured active mod, actually. And I started on the tail end of what he's talking about... in fact, now that I'm going back and looking, I think it was directly because of the fallout of said era that I started.

Clashmore Mike and I started at the same time almost exactly two years ago. And... uhhh... "mysteriously"... nothing exists in the mod forum from that point backwards lol... things that make you go "hmm..." So I can't pin down the timeline of anything that happened in 2012 or before.

Before that, I believe Ironman, Whiskey, and Beau were all mods. I think Junkhead and irishfan are the longest tenured by far though of those that are still active.

GITF, TerryTate, Steve, The Polish Irishman, etc. were all mods that faded away... though I know I've seen both Steve and The Polish Irishman post recently.

If memory serves me correctly the reason that Clashmore Mike and I got asked to moderate was that the "Wartime Consiglierie" NDinLA went out in epic style (does the mic drop post still exist somewhere?), and BGIF and some others (ACAMP?) also had enough of the headaches and stepped down around the same time. I forget the exact beef that was the root of everything, but I believe it involved killz/Bambi/Bogs and some others so maybe they remember the specifics.

And I stepped down well before the era in question, ND and BGIF were the bridge between me and the era of which you speak LAX... When I moderated it was myself, LMI, Pham and Goshen... Pham was busy with school and Goshen passed during this period,... so it was really a small mod staff, far too small in retrospect...

Koon was an ass at times, I've been an ass at times, Hollywood, LAX, Piombino....we have all been asses at times. No idea on Terry. When I first joined this site, that guy was the king of info and universally revered.

Jason I'm not sure the full story on but I do remember him getting ticked at STL right around the time he stopped posting. Jason always ran the master lists and did a great job and then STL came in and started up a "master list" of a year in advance and Jason took serious exception. Don't know if that's why he mostly stopped posting though.

Haha that was with the QueensNY fiasco with the deleted threads and when Svo sold the site I think. And some Sparty fan (TonyTiger?) was a mod or trying to become one or something? I forget all the details. That was a weird time for this site. It's crazy how much better IE is now (thanks to literally every mod but me...I've just been along for the ride).

I thought that Terry started grad school right before he stopped posting. Also for some reason I thought he got/had a girlfriend as well (though I might be misremembering so you can call me Brian Williams if I am). Girlfriends can be the bane to people posting until they have been married awhile, then the forums can be a sanctuary.

And the only reason I registered to post was to correct some misconceptions about Brian Kelly and his use of Mardy Gilyard during his UC days, in relation to to Davonte Neal.
