That's lunacy. AoTC is a bad movie with even worse execution. At worst TLJ was a bad movie executed well.

Attack of the Clones is so bad it's hard to even fathom something being that bad. It literally has zero redeeming qualities.

Seriously. From a film perspective and from a "shit all over the Original Trilogy" perspective, each of the prequels is a special snowflake of bad decisions.

Jar Jar by himself puts Phantom below TLJ. Add child Anakin, bad instantly dated CGI, piles of boring exposition, trade federation disputes, and on and on. Not even close.

Go try and rewatch Phantom. It's way worse than TLJ by any objective measure.

I can see this from a production value standpoint but from a story/plot standpoint and from a greater SW universe standpoint TLJ was pretty unforgivable imo... its trash.

What in the TLJ is worse for the greater SW universe than fucking midichlorians? How about George turning the franchise into a slapstick comedy for 5 year olds with Jar Jar stepping in poop? The plot and story are so boring and illogical it's not even close. RLM's breakdown of Phantom that ulukinatme posted is the perfect dissection of how much of a turd episode one is. None of it makes any sense.

There's nothing even close to episode 1 in TLJ. People are all bent out of shape bc Rain Johnson made Luke a real human being. Even if you don't like that decision at least it makes logical sense. There aren't giant plot holes like Phantom.

You realize there are videos that break down TLJ pretty much scene for scene too right? Midicholrians and jar jar don't bother me near as much compared to taking Han and Luke and making them into apathetic bullshit cowards who sit the sidelines while billions die in part due to their actions and then just, .... die... while in the end, everything they fought for in any previous film also dies and is rendered pointless... or hyper space being used as a weapon destroying basically every plot to every meaningful SW movie before it, or the great heroic plan that Poe can't be told for no other reason at all other than character progression being lynch pind by sending off distress signals 'to the far reaches of the galaxy' while the enemy they are asking for help against sits in the atmosphere of the planet they are sending the freaking signals from... Or that Luke left some map for others to find him just so he could then tell them, " I never wanted to be found"... or The revelation that force ghosts can now fight and command lighting attacks but also sit the sideline and watch people die because they too are now apparently total pieces of shit like Luke and Han... or Snoke being a completely pointless waste of time with no real importance at all as it turns out... or Rose saying everything is about saving those you love while she literally allows everyone in the rebellion to potentially be destroyed... these are just a FEW of the issues I have with the film... I dislike the film and think it's the worst SW film not named Attack of the Clones... im not asking or challenging you to prove me wrong.

Prediction: in part bc it's just what a Hollywood does now and in part bc so many are disenchanted with where everything went post Jedi... we will see, prob within 15 years or so, a complete reboot of everything, prequel and anything following Jedi that completely ignores most other films made since Jedi to then....

Early reviews on "Solo" are as-expected.

The movie is an entertaining/fun action flick, but nothing more.

Alden Ehrenreich is... not great. The movie stands on its own for the action and set pieces, but it would be much better if Ehrenreich actually knew how to try and be Han Solo. All of the horror stories about how they needed to bring in acting coaches for the guy playing Han Solo in a "Han Solo" movie were true.

Apparently everyone else is surprisingly decent-to-good, though. Glover as Lando is getting rave reviews.

The best description I read was, "expect Star Wars: The Fast and The Furious."

I'll go see it and hope the action keeps me entertained based on everything I've heard. It's just a shame that a movie about Han Solo doesn't really do the origin justice, but is rather just a vehicle for "wow" moments and visuals... Harrison Ford's work deserves better than that.

My buddy is boycotting the movie. He was one that wasn't a fan of Last Jedi, he feels like liberal Hollywood was pushing too much of their rhetoric in the movie and said it sounds like more of the same in Han Solo. Possible spoiler: (Do I need to say that in this thread?) Lando has been changed to be a pansexual supposedly and may or may not hit on Han during the movie? I'm guessing whoever he heard that from is blowing something out of proportion...or maybe Lando is blowing something....

I'll see it eventually but TLJ basically ruined the Skywalker Saga beyond repair for me... I MAY not watch other one of those... I'm still interested enough in the SW stories to see where they go.

The only real sexual undertones that happened with Lando were between him and his droid.

I thought the movie was entertaining. Lando killed it. Alden was just OK. Not as bad as many people are making him out to be, but also no where near as good as Han deserves.
