The only solace in this close loss to Georgia is the fact Michigan got beaten like a red headed stepchild when this was "Their year."

Funny comment from r/cfb:

Harbaugh just watched an opposing team absolutely annihilate his squad with the exact brand of offense he failed to install in the same year that he abandoned that effort to hand the reins over to a first time play caller who is clearly in over his head. That would probably be incredibly frustrating if it wasn't for the millions of dollars Michigan has showered him with.

LoL... Michigan man.

at what point is that no longer going to carry him? That fanbase gets what they deserve. Geez.

"I feel like we're very close offensively and very close to hitting our stride, hitting on all cylinders," he said. "Really good evidence to back that up and also what I see."

He must be blind. They've looked like trash against the only three reputable teams they've played, and I'm generously including Army in that three which is extremely generous, as they don't look as good this year.

They will roll to Champaign and crush the Illini, act like everything is peachy again, and then probably lose at Penn St ahead of our showdown in AA.

I simply think Lea will take Gattis to school early and often in a few weeks. There is a clear advantage for the Irish there.

Only saving grace is that it's 15 years from now, but in general I'm not a fan of having them on the schedule at all. If it's only a home-and-home once a decade or so I can live with that no.

Yeah that's probably the best we can hope for. I'm with you, beat scUM tonight and keep them off the schedule forever!

Look on the bright side, maybe they won't have a football program by then.

By then, I'll have ran for President with a campaign promise of shuttering the Michigan football program by executive order.

Someone remind me why we are keeping them on the schedule at all? They always do chickenshit stuff like this. Brady Hoke's comments after we cancelled it the last time... completely lying about the situation... only to see us stupidly add them back on the schedule for no reason whatsoever. Then after announcing before the game that we're going to play them again -- and for no reason giving them the first home game -- we go get our asses kicked... and then they tweet something like this.

ND administration just sets the program up for failure. There is no reason to be playing Michigan, win or lose. They have always been assholes going back to the first time we beat them.

These players are going to be 34 before we face them again. What an awful time to not show up for a game.

The whole landscape of college football ends as we know it after the '24 season when the tv contracts run up and Texas leaves the Big12 for wherever. Anything scheduled after 2024 is an absolute if.

I might be dead by then...awful time to not show up indeed.

Fuck, I'm gonna be 51 now that I think about it...my boys, should they play and go to ND, won't even get a chance to suit up against Michigan. They will have just graduated, or at best my youngest could play one year against them

I agree but what did ND expect? They know scUM is classless and just need an excuse to prove it. Tonight they got just that and knew they could get away w/ that tweet b/c what’s ND going to do...cancel the series? That just makes ND look worse.

From self reporting minor violations that led to being forced to vacate wins to being embarrassed on the field at least once per season, ND deserves what they get.

It's a good reminder of our roots. That it's still our responsibility to f*ck these pricks up any chance we get. If we fail, that's on us. But taking them off our schedule is a disservice to good people everywhere in this world. You have to strive to put douchery in its place in order to maintain balance. It's a historical necessity.

They are essentially non-competitive against their main rival and so this makes them feel big. Or something.

Michigan never fails to show how classless they can really be. This is why we really shouldn't have laid a goose egg last night.

I mean...am I the only who thought it was kind of hilarious? I mean I hate Michigan but I'm not going to get my panties in a wad because they just owned us on and off the field. They earned that tweet. Crying about it only fuels their laughter.

I hope that is not an official tweet from the school its twitter jackasses right?-not Mich itself-please fill me in please tell me they aren't that big of a bunch of jackasses. Please tell me we haven't scheduled such a group of jackasses like that to ever play them again. I like many here have said there is no reason to play them win or lose it serves no purpose other than to get Herbstreit and Fowler ready for a sports orgasm if Mich plays well.
