Brandon Peters, 4 star QB from the Class of '16, has entered the transfer portal as a graduate transfer who will have two years of eligibility left. Shea Patterson, who transferred from Old Miss, is the starter again this year and Dylan McCaffery had beaten out Peters.

Two Washington QBs have also entered the transfer portal with the announcement that the Georgia transfer, Jacob Eason, would be the Huskies starter.

After Justin Fields transferred from Georgia and was granted immediate eligibility as with Patterson, two Ohio State QBs - Tate Martell and Matthew Baldwin - transferred and a QB with a verbal commit changed his mind. Ohio State was able to get a third QB with the graduate transfer of former Kentucky QB Gunnar Hoak.

Missouri, with grad transfer Kelly Bryant, ex-Clemson, and the undergrad transfer of Shawn Robinson, ex-TCU, has five scholarship QBs with 4-star 2019 commitment Connor Bazelak joining in the fall. Missouri has appealed sanctions which will dock some scholarships.

Oklahoma, which is QB Transfer U, may well start its third transfer QB in three years with Jalen Hurts, ex-Alabama QB.

Pass transferred? I cannot find any info on that. Jordan Travis transferred from the Ville to FSU.

What are the chances Hurts wins the Heisman at Oklahoma this year and then goes No. 1 in the draft??? If it does happen, what a tremendous event we would be able to witness in our lifetime !! Two in a row in both is freaking awesome as it is, but three?!?!?!

You're right. I just noticed I made a mistake on Austin Kendall who transferred from Oklahoma to West Virginia. So, ten of the top fifteen have transferred. Any other mistakes?

As far as B12 QBs, Mayfield transferred from Texas Tech to Oklahoma, Murray transferred from A&M to Oklahoma. Mahomes was the starting QB for Tech when Mayfield started his second season at Oklahoma in 2016. Murray was sitting out 2016 and expected to start in 2017 when Mayfield would declare early. He didn't, of course, so Murray had one year starting. Kingsbury had a great relationship with Murray and tried to recruit him to Texas Tech and now has the opportunity to coach him in Arizona.

Now this was a fun game, especially in retrospect to what both are doing in the NFL.

When Mayfield Met Mahomes: Reliving Oklahoma-Texas Tech 2016, Which Blew Up the Record Book

Found this from this morning,
More than two-thirds of the Top 25 QBs in 2016 recruiting class have transferred

Really too bad for Michigan. Beilein is a great coach and an even better guy.

No one more deserving to get paid than this man.

I agree with this statement. Adding the sound of Wolverine sobs is a great way to start a work week.

I wonder if it was the itch to coach in the NBA or the lure of a phat paycheck before retirement. At 66 this doesn't make too much sense to me. Also seems to be the bright light of Harballz was too much.

The Michigan running back situation will have to rely on little experience.
With Karen Higdon (224 atttempts) moving on to the NFL and Chris Evans, 2nd string, (81 attempts) transferring following a suspension, Michigan lost about 70% of their RB carries.

Their current depth includes former w/o True Wilson (62 attempts), Christian Turner (20 attempts), Zach Charbonnet, a true Fr, and Hasan Haskins (switched from DB, 0 atts last year). Charbonnet was the #4 RB in the Class of 2019.

Michigan's offense is switching to more of RPO with the strength being at QB and WR.

I don’t believe Evans transferring has been confirmed. Pretty sure that’s still TBD. If he is going to transfer I wonder if they try and take a look at Tavien Feaster who is transferring from Clemson.

Having a pass first offense is predicated on a functional offensive line. Michigan has not been impressive in that regard the last two years. Has something changed?

From what I know, Evans was "off the team" in Feb and reportedly had academic issues. Maybe he is still at the University and not on scholarship. He isn't in the transfer portal. Michigan moved Ben VanSumeren, a former TE, to RB, too. Michigan had six walkons who got scholarships last year and have returned including Tru Wilson. Counting those six, Michigan is at 88 scholarship players. They may be feeling like they do not need to add a transfer RB with all those changes at RB and in scheme.

My dad played high school basketball with Beilein, and his first head coaching job was at the small country high school that my wife graduated from. To see him achieve what he has is incredible. He really is a great guy.

Wait until you get to be 66. You'll understand then.

Their OL is kind of similar to ours; they have a lot of experience coming back and a step forward is expected. Not as premiere in regards to recruiting as our unit though from what I gathered.

Them moving to a pass first isn't a knock at RB, though. They are STACKED at WR. Play to your strengths. It's a pretty convenient year for them to be weak in the backfield IMO.
