Some social media beef with Michigan right now. ND tweeted this:
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">When you choose Notre Dame, the &#55356;&#57102; is your classroom.<a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/GoIrish?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#GoIrish</a> ☘️&#55356;&#56831;&#55356;&#56806; <a href="https://t.co/QPfftrC7H0">pic.twitter.com/QPfftrC7H0</a></p>— Notre Dame Football (@NDFootball) <a href="https://twitter.com/NDFootball/status/1129180998590242816?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">May 17, 2019</a></blockquote>
<script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Michigan recruiting coordinator the gets mad that some ND students had the audacity to study abroad in South Africa. Apparently no one else is allowed to go there now because Michigan took their team vacation there this year. I wonder if people can still take trips to Paris and Rome, or did Michigan claim those too? Anyways, he said the following:
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">When you choose Michigan, the &#55356;&#57101; is your classroom. <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/GoBlue?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#GoBlue</a>〽️&#55356;&#56831;&#55356;&#56806;<a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/ImitationIsTheGreatestFormOfFlattery?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#ImitationIsTheGreatestFormOfFlattery</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/NiceTryThough?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#NiceTryThough</a> &#55358;&#56631;*♂️ &#55358;&#56611; <a href="https://t.co/3jp85HlINP">pic.twitter.com/3jp85HlINP</a></p>— Matty Dudek (@Thee_Matty_D) <a href="https://twitter.com/Thee_Matty_D/status/1129190293281157125?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">May 17, 2019</a></blockquote>
<script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

The replies to ND's tweet are a gold mine of insecurity from Michigan fans.

This is why I don't like playing this team, their fan base is full of delusional clowns. They are the worst people on earth. Hope we make it three in a row this fall.

Typical. They are on vacation. Our boys are schooling.. Lolz Most of those comments are priceless though, like this one:

So it's legal for a private donor to fund the entire football team to go on an extravagant vacation?

Right? The basketball team would take Euro trips together every off season back in the day too.

The old rule was you could do it once every four years. Maybe that only applied to competitions rather than just taking a trip, IDK.

EDIT: I should add that was for basketball not necessarily for all sports.

Haven't they don't it 3 years in a row now? They went to Paris and Rome. I believe those were separate years. Harborough said in an article they plan to make this a yearly thing

Lol:

Chris Evans said:
I just want to finish what I started. I’m big on loyalty, especially like just through the whole process of me committing to Michigan and then getting offered by Ohio State late, I’m just keeping the commitment to them. And just showing my commitment still. Loyalty is the first thing.

This is hilarious, because all context clues point to Chris Evans basically saying "I know the Ohio State offer was a better one, but I stuck with scUM instead. I hope they help me out for that."

Also interesting that academic misconduct is a full year at scUM... isn't it only one semester at ND? Golson got caught cheating in the Spring, so he had to sit out the fall... or am I mixed up on the timeline?

Isn't this a big deal? I thought their RB room was already thin, and I believe he played a good deal last year.

Or am I off?

https://247sports.com/college/michigan/Article/michigan-wolverines-football-jim-harbaugh-chris-evans-suspension-132532086/

Michigan RB Chris Evans suspended for 2019 season

Michigan running back Chris Evans, who had been suspended by the university before spring practice due to an academic issue, will not be participating with the Wolverines' football program this season. The punishment for the academic issue was brought forth by the university and not the football program. Evans had appealed the decision in hopes to be eligible by fall.

According to U-M head coach Jim Harbaugh, who confirmed the news of Evans' status to The Detroit News, the appeal has apparently been denied.

“Chris Evans is suspended for the year,” Harbaugh said Sunday after speaking at the Best of the Midwest football camp at Grand Valley State.

Evans' absence from the program is a significant blow to the running back depth chart, though it's been something the program had been adjusting to since the spring. In three seasons with the Wolverines, Evans accrued 1722 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns, as well as 392 receiving yards and two touchdowns. This will prompt the Wolverines to rely on former walk-on Tru Wilson, Christian Turner and early enrollee freshman Zach Charbonnet.

Wilson, who saw playing time last season, is continuing to impress his teammates and coaches.

"He's handling it well," running backs coach Jay Harbaugh said of Wilson's increased workload during the spring. "It's more of a role he's ever had, gradually he's eased into it. I think he's getting used to that every play type of deal. If we're in a move the ball situation, you're talking like 5 or 6, 7 plays in a row. He only did that a couple times in a row last year. It's a little bit different in terms of the sustained focus and the cardio that it takes but he's doing a pretty good job. I'd be curious if you all asked him what he'd say. I think that he's playing a lot faster. He's a guy that did a lot of work this offseason just cleaning up his nutrition and doing a lot of extra speed work. It's really showed up in perimeter runs, being able to put his foot in the ground and get vertical. A lot of times a run last year that might've been a 4 or 6-yard run, now he's running through that arm tackle and it's 10, 12, 15. It's been fun to watch, he's had a few big plays this spring."

According to The Detroit News, Evans is able to return to the university and the football program after the one-year suspension is over in January 2020.

The Wolverines kick off the season on August 31 against Middle Tennessee State. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. on BTN.

I'd tip any Michigan football player handsomely whether they graduated or not. Pizza delivery is a tough way to make a living.

Say what you want about our depth/experience at running back. I'd take our situation at running back 100/100 over Michigan's.

I really wish we'd have gotten zach charbonnet last year... just to deprive UM of any quality RB's.

In this brave new world, I wonder if Michigan might just grab an RB out of the transfer portal.
