PPS: I've seen a lot of animosity directed towards tOSU on these boards. I have to wonder why. We don't even meet regularly. We've played 5 times total since the beginning of time.

1) Many guys on the board are from Ohio and claim O$U fans are obnoxious
2) Your shithead coach spurned us big time
3) He regularly negative recruits against us
4) Tim Hinton and Chuck Warriner
5) You're President is a Catholic-hating bigot and fits in PERFECTLY in the B1G (He might as well be Pee Wee Herman with those stupid *** bowties)

It's not so much the rivalry that board members get riled up about, it's that O$U is the antithesis of Notre Dame and what it stands for.

that's an insult to be compared to him.

Not really, you both do. (Quick Ex: "I honestly think he was due for a bump in the rankings before he ever committed to Michigan.")

So do a lot of ND fans. That's why they are called fanatics and not impartial observers.

What Haverford does your username refer to? Haverford, PA? The Haverford school? If so, go EA

I'd imagine it's the Parks and Rec character, played by Aziz Anzari (dude is funny as hell as a stand-up).

I was just giving my honest opinion. He's rated as a really low 3*, and his listed measurables, highlight film, and offer list look a high 3*, not a low 3*, and there is a difference in the ranking of a 3*, not all 3*'s are created equal. There are other LB's that aren't 6-3/6-4, don't have the offer list he has, or the highlight tape he has that are ranked ten spots high than him. Also, an ND fan in this thread said they thought Winovich was due for a bump before I did. I'd honestly have said the same thing had he picked Ohio State. He looks much better than a low 3* prospect.

And I don't go around claiming Michigan doesn't really want kids they offer and go after or let commit, or talk about non-committable offers. OSU fan-sites have actually deluded themselves into thinking that Urban doesn't want Da'Shawn Hand because he's not a fit for the program. There's been a lot of smoke about Adoree Jackson and Michigan and I've continually said I'll believe it when I see it. Jackson likes to play the recruiting game and track is a factor and Michigan's track program ain't all that. If I was a blind homer I'd be saying Jackson is a lock or things of that nature.

waaaaaaaaaa waaaaaaaaaaaa waaaaaaaaaaa!!! I liked Posted MoC's bail better... :D

Not sure what that means. Underwater basket weaver?

Let me try to explain. When a course is very easy, or a course load for a student, they typically name a class "underwater basket weaving."

For example: Matt Leinart graduated from USC in 4 years, but redshirted one year, he had to take a full course to play his fifth year. He loaded up on easy classes. People would say he took underwater basket weaving.

I actually really like this kid, good pick up for SCUM. Not surprised obviously as we all knew they could recruit. I look at this kid a lot like a Greer Martini.

George Campbell tweeting Michigan fans to show Jacques Patrick love... it is absolutely shocking to me how well this staff at Michigan has been recruiting nationally. I really just don't understand it at all. Are their coaches that awesome? Did they all grow up Flinstones fans? Do they like not even competing for championships in the worst conference in America much less national championships?

You should'nt be surprised at Michigan. Now Ole Miss, Kentucky.. That is who you should be shocked at.

I mean did they ever recruit this way NATIONALLY with Carr? They sure didn't with Rich Rod.

Take a deep breath Lax. With another good year on D, the NFL will come knocking for Mattison. He's the ONLY thing keeping that team together.

I mean I don't even think that matters. He chose to leave the NFL to coach at Michigan and be close to family. He could go back at any time and voluntarily chooses not to.

I also don't really care as we stop playing Michigan... but I just can't understand all these kids being from coast to coast being randomly in love with Michigan.

Good news is they lost the coach/primary recruiter (Jerry Montgomery) for Ferns, Cole and Mone, 3 of their top 5 recruits, to Oklahoma earlier this year.

I think for various reasons, partly because of Denard Robinson and even their basketball team, Michigan has more "swag" across the country than before, and certainly more than Notre Dame.

Just something I have noticed.

Yeah, it's hard for ND to have "swag" with the Te'o debacle and all the negativity around the program.

How they've managed to cast their 8-5 team in a crappy conference in a crappy location as a desired destination is beyond me. Maybe the Fab 5 30 for 30... who the hell knows. But it's befuddling.

Yup.

Kids typically like ugly/bold color schemes as well.

It's all about the gear.

i hate to say it but it's correct....before oregon was anything, they were trying to be flashy w/ uniforms....then actually after getting some recruits they then became a desired place to play not because of kelly but because of the uniform swag---which i f ing hate that term....but anyways as a kid i loved the fab 5 and i even bought the shorts/chris webber jersey just because they were the "it" thing....ND obviously sees this which is why we are having uniform changes, different gold helmets that look awesome as hell...BUT as crazy as it sounds for some kids to go to a school just for uniform stuff in PA where i live...it's about 75% PSU fans 15% ND and 9% michigan with 1% whatever else...its crazy but i see michigan stuff all over despite them being in the big ten going against psu

Swag is about what is in your head. You have to believe it first. And be it. Every Michigan fan knows they are "great". When you ask them why in the face of all contrary evidence, Shane Morris is going to be great, they say, "because Michigan recruited him."

Bama had swag. Did you see them in the tunnel before the National Championship game when the two teams met up? They were wolfin't the Irish!

So there are two ways to have swag, arrogance and intimidation.

There is a third. Just go off and knock someone's head off. I think that is what ND is working on. I just don't think the ND fans have kept up. And when it comes to recruits, I am not sure that fans make much difference.

Come on, this is silly. It's not too hard to sell Michigan. There's only one other serious team in the conference, they went to a BCS bowl pretty recently, they have as big a fanbase as anyone, and Greg Mattison tells every recruit he's the next Suggs.

The bigger surprise was how poorly Michigan recruited under RichRod. They were always going to be able to recruit nationally, at least on defense.

Still not getting much offensive traction, cause kids see how their offense is stuck in a stone age philosophy. I don't think three yards and a cloud of dust is going to sell many kids these days.

And why should they always be able to recruit nationally "at least on defense". That's pretty nonsensical. Quantify your remarks.
