There is zero chance they have to vacate wins after the announcement of the investigation. And any game they are told to vacate, they will do the same thing USC and we did -- put an asterisk next to it with a note "subsequently vacated" and still count it.
Agree.

If they get nothing, treat them like the 2017 Astros. Everyone knows it's tainted and will never let them forget

This isn't like when Reggie Bush got paid. This is cheating. Yes I loathe scUM. But at this point can anyone even argue that they didn't illegally steal signs? If this was Illinois or Maryland this would've been settled (massive sanctions and vacated wins) a long time ago.

No

The only thing they try to argue is that everyone else was stealing signs as well.

Still think they’re going to get smoked tomorrow. Could very well be wrong.
There's a lot of confidence by Buckeyes guys that the leaked punishment is false, as nobody should have the actual punishments as of right now. scUM will be notified in the morning a few hours before the official announcement. Get to Mass for the Assumption early tomorrow as speculation is the NCAA announcement and HAMMER is coming around 12EDT

I want to see massive sanctions just to see how quickly underwood goes into the portal.

I assume the Big 10 would have thrown a fit if a post season ban or other serious sanctions that might have hurt one of the their biggest brands was the path the NCAA chose.

Zero faith in them as an independent body to punish the money-making brands, us included.

I just had a UM “friend” of mine through my wife say that it’s been proven time and time again UM didn’t cheat… at this point I just want to read the findings and have ammo or a leg to stand on that they did cheat. Just tell me they cheated… just tell them all the covering up they did… give me a bombshell nobody expected like a Stallions and Harbaugh love affair… I don’t care about infractions just give me the deets!!!

Nah man in my experience they'll just move down the list in the cheaters' playbook:

We didn't cheat.
And if we did, it wasn't a competitive advantage,
And if it was, then everyone does it,
And if they don't, it was just one staff member,
And if it wasn't, those teams deserved it for being so easy to steal from.

I genuinely don't care about anything but vacated wins. All that other stuff will fade. Having a certified asterisk next to your only non-split title since the 40s is appropriate and properly harmful to a historically minded program like Michigan.

Has anyone seen their schedule for this year? Holy crap what a cake walk. Nothing but pure mediocrity leading up to Ohio State.
So the usual? The year they won it all they played literally no one with a pulse for a month then the middle and bottom of the big 10 until the last 2 weeks. Did have a good win vs Bama then 1 of the weaker title game participants not named TCU.

Please be true 🤷‍♂️🙌

Ugh, I'd throw all the punishments out if it meant the championship was void, but that's honestly not a terrible list given NCAA's track record of walking shit back. Something is better than nothing.
Either way, everyone knows '23 has an asterisk.

I’m giving them the asterisk regardless and encourage others to do so as well. Treat them like the damn Astros

Saw a tweet that said "The last two times the NCAA has called a press conference to announce punishments"

2017 - Louisville Basketball NCAA title stripped
2012 - Penn State in the Jerry Sandusky penalties

It does point out a something that I haven't really thought of, would the NCAA hold a press conference if the punishment was a "nothing burger"?

I agree, but I also think you are underestimating how damaging the other stuff would be to their program. That would set them back for a while.

If I had to choose, I guess I take the vacated wins but obviously I'd prefer a mixture of the rumors. Idk if Moore deserves to be canned for being on staff for what Harbaugh perpetrated, that one is a bit of a headscratcher unless he was somehow deeply involved.

Question:

Would a 3 year postseason ban decimate the Michigan roster/recruiting or would Michigan be able to save the roster/recruiting by overpaying NIL amounts substantially?
