Mike Macdonald, who came in and made Michigan's defense relevant again and was gifted to Jim Harbaugh by his older brother, is now being considered heavily for the Raven's DC position.

Basically, John seemingly gave Jim a 1-year rental life preserver and is now taking it back.

I get where you're coming from, but everyone one of these guys know the risks involved when you get into coaching. His lengthy stay at ND is not typical for an assistant.

Harbaugh may have told Elston this was potentially on the horizon and he took the job knowing he would be a DC candidate.

John fired the former DC... and they are brothers. So its quite likely he knew this.

I cant see UM hiring Elston as DC, but are we sure that Elston doesnt end up with a title only co-DC?

Elston leaving Michigan for same job at high school alma mater, hoping for DC job next year.
