the way he's going as a ND fan, you'd want Harbaugh there as long as possible because he has them trending down wonderfully
Looks like Michigan will finish with a 247 score of 230.56, which would be the lowest score of a class in the BK era. Next year is looking like a make or break year for Harbaugh. Looking forward to September 1st.
They have a couple of guys is their class that I like quite a bit. But top to bottom, this is a YUGE fail for Harbaugh.
I visited there in the fall of 2016 when my daughter was picking schools. That campus, while pretty, was one of the most depressing places I had ever been. None of the kids were smiling and the whole place just seemed repressive and backwards. A stark contrast to NU, where all the kids were happy and obviously brilliant.
I just don't understand a kid choosing ND over Michigan. Even my super Catholic kid hated it.
I spotted this comment about ND on MGOBoard:
It’s easy to be happy when you don’t care about how the football team does. Students are pretty depressed after a loss, and we all know how the 2016 season went.
On the other hand, maybe he should talk to the 60% of HS students who, when given the option between ND and UM, choose ND. (And that number would go up if you only looked at applicants who aren’t from Michigan)
And they say ND fans are delusional…
I mean regardless of how the football team is doing that anecdote is nonsensical. I lived through that '07 shit as a soph... my roommate was on ESPN saying "well if we just beat Navy..." and then we freaking lost to Navy for the first time in forever and he got trolled by a bunch Midshipmen on old school Facebook for like a solid year afterwards. Those were dark times.
All that was going on and we were still having a great time and "smiling" when walking around campus. The idea that he stepped foot in, say, LaFortune during a normal school day and "none" of the kids were smiling and it seemed "repressive and backwards" is just such obvious, terrible, make-believe nonsense. He's either making it up because he hates ND so much that he needs to project his insecurities with made up stories, or he left out the subtext of "my daughter didn't get it." Those are the only explanations.
Either way, I thought that comment was so funny I posted it in Patterson's thread and emailed it around to my ND co-workers here. So much salt... so much delicious salt...

To be fair to Tommy, I wouldn't show up when a message board is gloating about the implosion of my program.
Yes, he's guilty by association but he's been mostly fair on here (besides showing up for the occasional gloat). I'm sure he'll be back to resume discussion. We'll need at least one skunkbear to talk with as the first game approaches.

Maybe. Maybe not. But if he wants our respect, he's going to need to do better than to show his face only when he has good UM news to rub in ours. See TTT...
If ND can win the season opener, things are going to get real interesting in Ann Arbor.
The only thing better than watching a Michigan tire fire is ND being the match that lit it. A loss to ND coupled with a couple in season losses in the Big 10 and the inevitable loss to OSU to end the season could spell the end for Jimmy boy.
Icing on the cake would be if Jimbo was fired from UM and Brother John got hired at ND... but now I'm just getting carried away.
