Tbh I don't really understand what people expect in terms of "news" at this point. People are linking to the clickbait garbage updates when they happen. Then there is usually some discussion of that, then some random thoughts/feelings/copium about the recruitment, NIL, whatever. There is a tiny bit truly OT stuff that we clean up a couple times a day.

Since the in home visits concluded and we went into the weekend, its been abundantly clear that there wouldn't be any real news until tomorrow. But that doesn't stop premium sites from doing their twice-a-day "PEYTON BOWEN UPDATE! (2:00 PM)"

Basically just saying even if we lose like our top five commits and even if do we finish with the #10-12 ranked class he "doesn't care" with profuse comparisons to Dabo Swinney's championship teams - and lmao pointing at the low ranking of the Trevor Lawrence recruiting class ignoring that, uh, Trevor Lawrence was in it.

And yeah my law school would probably prefer I be studying right now but 3LOL means my grades can neither help nor hurt me soooo

EDIT: hahahaha more from Driskell saying he doesn't put any stock in recruiting rankings because he just knows so much more than everyone else

Do we know for a fact we didn't? Probably not but who knows. She's also probably not on full scholarship at OU, I doubt soccer team is provided enough scholarships to cover everyone with a full ride, it's probably split up between different people. But decent chance she's not as allured by the academic PRESTIGE of notre dame in the way all us little try-hards were in high school. If I were to rant any further I'd start voicing my long-running distaste for non-revenue sports at ND which would be several pages so I'll stop

She is actually a pretty highly ranked four star. Just like her boyfriend she will probably start as a frosh - OU women's soccer isn't very good.

You’d be surprised the number of scholarships women’s sports have to work with. Title IX means they have to have an equal amount to men. And they don’t have a team that takes up 85.

Oh okay, I'm just thinking of men's lacrosse where it's 11.6/team for usually a 35-40 man roster, or I've heard it's very normal to not get full scholarships for men's soccer. Guess it would make sense women's sports are different given Title IX which I only really know about via wrestler friends griping that it has destroyed their sport

For D-1 the max number of scholarships available for women's soccer per NCAA rules is 14. That is usually spread throughout the entire team.

Women's equivalency sports have slightly more than comparable men's sports in most cases. I think women's lacrosse has like 13 schollies.

But in general, NIL is also starting to turn some equivalency sports on their head because it's more viable now for donors to "make up the difference" for any player that can't be covered by scholarship.

About 56% of all DI athletic scholarships go to men. Title IX does not mandate an equal number of scholarships.

EDIT: My original percentage was too high. It's 56/44.

During his everyday rants about BK when he was still coach at ND, he would actually say all other coaches thought BK sucked, & just said nice things about him & voted for him for awards because they were afraid of ND & wanted BK to stay & if he left ND would be the power of college football again.
He really said stupid shit like that.
All the time.
According to him, a 12-0 ND team had nothing to do with BK, but and 8-4 ND team under Freeman is better coached & more dangerous.
