Oh for sure. Looks like Bowen did not make the trip to Oregon so hopefully they are out of itFor sure, but it would make a great thread. Lol

Yeah, Freeman should use our transfer restrictions as a recruiting asset. If you go to ND and don't like it, you can easily transfer to your other finalists. If you go to one of the other finalists and realize you actually wanted to go to ND, well tough luck.
Admissions are a hurdle for the Notre Dame Football program? To add, several ND Colleges don’t accept transfers into them past either first or second semesters of sophomore year.
Transfer portal is becoming more important. I’m sure ND will make adjustments considering it’s a business and not a charityAdmissions are a hurdle for the Notre Dame Football program?
One percent of the student population sure moves the academic ranking down out of morality and respectability. Not our mission to make a mockery of this University.
Doesn't have to do anything then either.Probably won’t know until Wednesday. But even then he doesn’t technically have to do anything until Feb 2.
Venables has yet to prove he's a high level HC.BV, Todd Bates, Miguel Chavis all from Clemson and Jay Valai (Bama) have proven track records. Completely different defensive scheme was installed and this is their first recruiting cycle considering BV came on board about a week prior to signing day last year
I agree that we’re in the same tier, and should generally be sympathetic toward each other. But OU’s defensive staff is as “proven” as ND’s offensive staff. Which is to say, not at all. Those two sides of the ball have, respectively, been the weakness that have held us back from accomplishing more in the post-season.Like it or not, the staff carries weight with defensive players. At the end of the day college football has tier one (Georgia, Bama, and Ohio St). ND and OU are in tier two right now with multiple others. Defining OU on a single 6-6 season would be as equally dumb as defining ND on losing to Marshall and a 3-9 standford in the same season
Exactly no don’t see Texas or OU fairing much better than TAm or Olmiss year in and out in the SEC.I agree with this if it wasn’t for OU joining the SEC. If it was the status quo where Oklahoma likely rebounds to be a perennial Big 12 favorite, that’d be one thing. Bowen will likely be on a SEC OU for 2 years. Those teams have a chance to drop OU out of that tier two for years to come.
Legitimate chance the 6 win team he is joining is just that most of his career.
Eventually this will get him to be burned out.I like what Loy is saying.
BK was a good coach but assumed recruits would just fall in his lap because of his presupposed genius.
MF is working hard as fuck to make things happen. Whether it comes through or not... you can't slight the hustle.
Love our coach.
I see what you did there. lolI'm not saying it's a good chance. If I were to put odds on it I would say we have about as good of a chance as my mother in law not messing up the snicker doodle cookies this Christmas which she always does but I still have some small hope she doesn't this year.
I've said it before, get rid of signing day. Let kids sign whenever they want. It'll at least make it worth something. They can still have their one free transfer out, eligible right after they sign. If they want to sign the first day of their junior year and transfer the next day, so be it. One free one.Maybe time to get rid of the verbal stuff. Outlaw the BS hat pick 6-12 months before signing day and make it so you can sign with a team as soon as your senior year starts. That way a verbal means nothing, it’s nothing or the ink.
I get the feeling that until Charlie Baker gets all the horses back into the barn, five star recruits are going to use verbal commitments to ND or supposed silent commitments to ND to build up their brand and get the factories to start bidding for them. Dante, Keeley and Bowen have written the playbook for everyone else to follow.
My hope is that the coaching staff emphasizes this to the recruits. No more playing games. If you repeatedly visit another school while you're committed, we're going to look around and prepare as if you're not going to be in the class. This has happened for awhile I feel like. ND is a nice bridesmaid/placeholder/safety school.
Why wouldn’t you commit, knowing there is a 0% chance of any funny business on the school’s end, while having a stress free recruitment with a bird in the hand?

I think the coaching staff did this in this situation. ND has three safeties in this class and only one of them (Adon Shular) was committed before Bowen started messing around with other schools. My hope is that the coaching staff emphasizes this to the recruits. No more playing games. If you repeatedly visit another school while you're committed, we're going to look around and prepare as if you're not going to be in the class.
this how i feel about MF too, dude has a wife and a load of kids, its not sustainable. I am sure at one point BK was a recruiting trail guy too but you can't be everything at once foreverEventually this will get him to be burned out.
keep mashing that F5 buttonStill committed. Nice.
Timing is everything. Can you imagine if MF was HC at ND prior to NIL?this how i feel about MF too, dude has a wife and a load of kids, its not sustainable. I am sure at one point BK was a recruiting trail guy too but you can't be everything at once forever
As much as it pains me, that is exactly how Saban is built different. He demands more of his staff and himself compared to the rest of college football. Family is low on the priory list. Terrible way to live but great if it’s your coachthis how i feel about MF too, dude has a wife and a load of kids, its not sustainable. Does Saban have six kids all still living at home?As much as it pains me, that is exactly how Saban is built different. He demands more of his staff and himself compared to the rest of college football. Family is low on the priory list. Terrible way to live but great if it’s your coach
The NFL is the same way. Those coaches barely see their families. As much as it pains me, that is exactly how Saban is built different. But is that only during the season though? The NFL is the same way. Those coaches barely see their families.

For NFL yeah. NFL coaches have it much better than college coaches. They get a legit offseason. Recruiting and evaluating is a treadmill that never stops for the college dudes. But is that only during the season though?
I’m here to be hurt. Let’s do thisIf anyone wants to mainline some copium directly into their veins.
So the fat lady has all but sung?I take it they're not considering Bowen a current commit if they're expecting them to sign. Unless he means sign with somebody even if it isn't ND.

VIP Notes: Notre Dame Recruiting
The Early Signing Period begins on Wednesday. All current commits are expected to “put pen to paper” that day, although in reality the process is actually completed via their cell phones and done electronically. Either way, here are the latest rumblings regarding Notre Dame recruiting.247sports.com
