I remember when I was a freshman in HS. (Now that I remember the story, it was at Howe Military)

I ran the 100 and was clocked by my friend at 10.5. The kid knew enough about track to know that he must have made a mistake and I did it again... 10.6

He sprinted up to the coach who was on the far side of the track and freaked out about it. The coach said that was impossible and didn't believe him and he showed him the time on the stop watch.

We went back and had me do it again and I was so proud. Really knew I had finally found my destiny when I lined up to start my 3rd heat.

He said... "No...Jones... You start from back there..."

I was crushed. lol

(I did pretty good at long jump and qualified for sectionals... where I was summarily embarrassed and realized my future was with the debate team)

There is really only one solution to this "fast" debate - official IE sprint series. Everyone bring booze and your running shoes. Let's settle this on the track!

Coach Kurth was probably begging u to come out on the regular
Coach Kurth was begging me to at least run the 4x100. It was Coach that would walk us out and time us all the time. I was his weightlifting student assistant 1st hour and then I was in his weightlifting class for home room and 4th period and always got out of my 5th hour study hall to be at the Fieldhouse. I was either running or lifting.

I played football at a small 3A school in Indiana, ran a 5.26 40 (egg-timed), and had a body style that my high school coach described as “trash bag filled with mashed potatoes” on my freshman player profile.

What do I win?
I'm guessing it wasn't much lol

That’s crazy man. I ran track while i was at Central. I was about a 4.6 40 with about an 11.5 100 (which is why I never ran it in meets and instead ran hurdles and the 400). Never sniffed the school record of 10.5 set by Trellus Washington. Basketball was also my jam tho. I was more into the pick-up game scene.
There was a time during junior year when we were on the courts playing 2 on 2 when the other team was playing extra physical and didn’t like the fact that I was giving it right back (I played in the rougher parts of Elkhart a lot of the time). Both of them ended up picking a fight with me after my teammate had left. Came home pretty swollen and bruised and my mom decided she had had enough of me being around all that. Thankfully I had some pretty well-off relatives that lived out in the Southern California area at that time. Mom sent me out there to finish up school and the rest is history.

Was this a pattern or just the one fight? Seems like your mom may have overreacted.

i feel like we'll know after 1 practice if he can beat college corners pressing off the LOS. If he can then he will probably have an impact and if he can't then he won't

With his track experience and speed I would like to see Merriweather, Colzie, or Tyree taking punt returns this year.

Maybe you mean Kickoffs. Speed is key there.
Great punt returning is making the first guy miss

That would've been a pantsless, fear-aided 200, correct? I don't think those qualify anymore since the new rules were put into place.
Not that time, I just jumped from a 2nd story window and bolted when her father woke up early.
I did get caught in the park once with my pants down and the cops pulled up. I was with my future wife. She was mortified, I thought it was hilarious. Don't know what her problem was, I was the only one missing pants.

Don't wanna get people nervous by bumping this thread lol.

Yesterday, Buchner did a zoom call for IPC. Little tidbit: He said that Tobias is killing it and is going to surprise people this fall.
This does not surprise me at all. He is our only WR of the class and on Eric Hansen's summer depth chart he is listed third at the field receiver behind Styles & Lenzy.

I am glad ND didn't take a WR transfer from the portal. I think who ND currently has, our young core is going to step up and surprise people.

Why didn't ND get rid of Del sooner....
