Yes, bring the drama out in the open
It’s been a while since I’ve posted on this forum. I’ve been busy focusing on other endeavors, but I wanted to comment on a few posts I’ve read here. Before I start, I should note that everything I say is my opinion or info I have to the best of my knowledge, obviously I don’t have ALL the facts. Okay, here it goes.
First, I know for a fact that PSU did NOT tell him he would be starting as a freshman. Maybe he starts at the school he goes to, maybe he doesn’t, but there have been no guarantees.
Second, as of right now, he is planning to return to ND in late March or early April of 20 with his parents. It’s the only visit he has planned in 2020. I assume he’ll go to PSU at some point, but he has no plans to visit anywhere else now, other than ND. So the only planned visit is to ND, from what I’ve been told by someone close to the family.
Lastly, I’d love to know what “coaches” in the WCAC are scratching their heads about him as a prospect that IrishLax mentioned. I know every head coach in the WCAC and they have all said he is the best O linemen in the league and the best linemen they played against all year. That includes St Johns and Dematha, both of whom played a very tough schedule. Good Counsel played the 6th toughest schedule in the country and he didn’t let up a sack and went up against a few 5 stars and several 4 stars. In addition, the Lemming Report ranked him as the #1 2021 O linemen in the country, he was one of only 2 juniors named to the USAToday All American First Team, along with many other accolades from various outlets, including receiving his 5th star on 247.
So I can point to many, many different folks from different areas with different focuses who rank him near the top or at the top of the 2021 linemen class, but you talk about some mysterious group that has been scratching their heads. Sounds like BS to me, maybe you should stick with lacrosse.
In my opinion, it’s between ND and PSU. He really likes Quinn and is good friends with Blake Fisher. He also really likes Limegrover and is friends with a few guys likely heading to PSU. PSU might have a slight edge right now, but it is slight. I think it will come down to his visits in the spring. It is my understanding that he wants to commit before the summer. Hope this was informative.
Hope to see your son sign with ND, Mr. Tengwall.
Important to note that this will be an unofficial and we should also be getting an OV before he ultimately decides.
They're recruiting the 'Big 3' pretty heavy. If it works, great, but if it doesn't I wonder how much that has alienated other prospects in the mean time.

It's strange that they make the edits with Fisher/Tengwall/Spindler and they leave off Dellinger. How does that end well?
It doesn't. If I was Dellinger I'd be pissed. Dellinger has skills.
Is Dellinger a tackle/gaurd hybrid

Ricco Spindler is digging ND lately, per ISD.
Say what you want about Kelly, but whoever the next HC is will be taking over a top 8 program.
That's a lot different than what Kelly took over.
Where even was the program when Kelly took over? I wasn't following too closely at that time.
In the shits

Right but as opposed to the Top 8 program the next coach would be inheriting, where would ND have ranked in 2009? Maybe top 25 considering potential?

Shooting from the hip, I'd say ~22nd?
I think these teams are suited to win big better than we are post-BK. The list has shrunk considerably:
- Bama
- Clemson
- OSU
- Oklahoma
- LSU
- Georgia
- Michigan. Yes, Michigan. They just need to get past OSU and they're in. The Athletic came out with 14 teams that can win it all in today's CFB, Michigan's included ND is not.
I’d go by recruiting talent and you’d see a very similar list
Top Programs
Alabama
Ohio State
Georgia
Clemson
LSU
Oklahoma
On the cusp
Michigan
Penn State
Notre Dame
Talented but flawed
FSU
USC
Texas
Based on recruiter talent you can get a pretty good idea that some teams are just flat out more talented than others. There are several teams that have recruited certain positions extremely well but have some serious roster flaws. USC for example has some of the most talented WR and DB groups in terms of rankings in the country but they fall woefully short on the two lines with recruiting. Michigan, Penn State, and Notre Dame haven’t proven they can beat the teams above them in this list but are very talented rosters with lots of wins in the last few years which is why I put them on the cusp. BK has definitely improved the depth of this team and I think he’s trying to raise the bar even higher which is exciting for recruiting and for the squad.
i agree but i would add Florida to the list of on the cusp....i hate them, but they attract talent and mullen has got them back
