I figured Tengwall would have to REALLY want to be Irish to join the class (like a Drew Pyne - I've been an ND fan my entire life scenario) because jumping on board with Carroll, Baker & Fisher almost assuredly pushes him inside and that's not including whatever 6-8 OT-only guy Quinn brings in with 'em. Maybe he doesn't want to go inside?

Maybe his buddy from HS could stop back in a shed some more light on what's going on?

This sucks because he could really be an incredible Q-like guard or OT. He has a lot of flexibility, was hoping he really was a fan of ND and wanted to join the program. Hopefully the lipstick from PSU wears off and he can see they are a pig.

He'll likely be a good player no matter where he goes but he could be a part of an incredible lineage of high quality OL at ND, and be competing for nattys.

Do you think PSU will even win the B10 in the next 4 years?

They won't ever win the Big 10 under Franklin. Take that to the bank.

No.

Franklin can't land the franchise QB, letting Phil and McCord leave the state.

He's obviously had some good RB's but letting Swift leave for UGA didn't help him (or us).

I'll wait until this is done playing out to share... but I coach in the conference he plays in, and there has been a lot of head scratching stuff about him as a prospect from start to finish. Someone remind me about this post a year and a half from now.

Correct, we have 0 momentum in this recruitment which is OK IMO. Him not schelduing a ND game and going to Michigan and PSU a few times kind of tells me everything. I never believe kids when they say "I've been to ND and saw everything I've need to see so don't need to visit again" I never buy that bullshit at all. Follow actions of recruits not words

He'll be at Michigan this weekend for the game. Was at the Michigan@PSU game last weekend. Not planning on visiting ND this season as of now. He will however get to see all 3 of his finalists in back to back weeks. Efficient.

Without divulging details, is he not a want for you? I can't help but envision him as Big Q's rightful successor.

Efficient yes, but no visit to ND still speaks volumes.

Is their Oline in that bad of shape that they're telling a recruit he'll be started as a freshman? I realize this does happen, but it's not a regular thing and it's one position where you better be awful awful good and strong when you get on campus.

He is an ox already. I'll be surprised if he doesnt start because of that and talent wise he is better than any interior linemen they have besides caedan Wallace and he may move to RT next year.

It’s been a while since I’ve posted on this forum. I’ve been busy focusing on other endeavors, but I wanted to comment on a few posts I’ve read here. Before I start, I should note that everything I say is my opinion or info I have to the best of my knowledge, obviously I don’t have ALL the facts. Okay, here it goes.

First, I know for a fact that PSU did NOT tell him he would be starting as a freshman. Maybe he starts at the school he goes to, maybe he doesn’t, but there have been no guarantees.

Second, as of right now, he is planning to return to ND in late March or early April of 20 with his parents. It’s the only visit he has planned in 2020. I assume he’ll go to PSU at some point, but he has no plans to visit anywhere else now, other than ND. So the only planned visit is to ND, from what I’ve been told by someone close to the family.

Lastly, I’d love to know what “coaches” in the WCAC are scratching their heads about him as a prospect that IrishLax mentioned. I know every head coach in the WCAC and they have all said he is the best O linemen in the league and the best linemen they played against all year. That includes St Johns and Dematha, both of whom played a very tough schedule. Good Counsel played the 6th toughest schedule in the country and he didn’t let up a sack and went up against a few 5 stars and several 4 stars. In addition, the Lemming Report ranked him as the #1 2021 O linemen in the country, he was one of only 2 juniors named to the USAToday All American First Team, along with many other accolades from various outlets, including receiving his 5th star on 247.

So I can point to many, many different folks from different areas with different focuses who rank him near the top or at the top of the 2021 linemen class, but you talk about some mysterious group that has been scratching their heads. Sounds like BS to me, maybe you should stick with lacrosse.

In my opinion, it’s between ND and PSU. He really likes Quinn and is good friends with Blake Fisher. He also really likes Limegrover and is friends with a few guys likely heading to PSU. PSU might have a slight edge right now, but it is slight. I think it will come down to his visits in the spring. It is my understanding that he wants to commit before the summer. Hope this was informative.

First of all, I said "head scratching stuff about him as a prospect from start to finish." I was implying that it was hard to know where ND stood with him. I said literally nothing about his talent or caliber of play.

Second of all, I know who you are so I'm taking this to PM.
