The recruiting effort has reached new heights the past couple of cycles. Great pick up, and as mentioned previously in the thread...dominance of the line of scrimmage is key to winning. Welcome Blake, and kudos to staff.

AP has Avon preseason #8 in IN 6A, and the Coaches' poll ranks them at #5. I thought that was pretty good for The Orioles.

The MIC & Cathedral have lost its stranglehold on Indy football. New Pal, Brownsburg and Avon can play with the MIC now. New Pal beat Center Grove worse than any MIC team did last year, WC only beat them by a TD. Maxpreps has New Pal at #2 in the state behind Carmel.

I agree. The suburb schools are catching up with The MIC quickly...especially the two you listed in Hendricks County. Brownsburg is ranked #2 and 3 in the two polls I'm looking at. Ben Davis (a perinial MIC power over the years), on the other hand, is only ranked 14 by the AP.

New Pal has turned into a juggernaut all of a sudden and they are super fun to watch...score a ton of points. They can certainly play with anyone in IN and are only 5A. My buddy's son plays on that team.

My hometown team (City) played New Pal int he state semis and got beat 35-10. They played Homewood-Flossmor the #10 Overall team in all divisions of Illinois and lost in OT. At the time, H-F was the #2 6A team behind Henning's Lincoln Way -East I believe.

New Pal is for real and I would not bet against them if they played Carmel.

Also, ND should gray-shirt the German kid and go all out on DE Kyle King who's currently committed to Mich St. Kid's a monster.

It'll be a bit more difficult for City to get down state this year with Valpo getting moved down to 5A, and in the same sectional as City.

It's the Hoosier Crossroad Conference and also includes Fishers, Hamilton Southeastern, Noblesville, Westfield, Zionsville and Franklin Central who just left Conference Indiana.

After dominating football in the 80's and early 90's FC's football dropped way off except for a couple of years around 2003-2004. Athletics in general have been treated almost like intramurals. It will be interesting to see if joining the HCC means a new direction. They did go 8-2 last year in Conference Indiana. I will try to get to the game when he plays FC.

More than a bit. City lost most of it's OL/DL's and their QB. They have plenty of speed but Valpo's got their important pieces back including their QB and 3 DI linemen.

Merrillville looks well stocked too.

In other Region news:

WTF's up with Hammond Morton? Did I just wake up in an alternate universe???

Physically looks huge. Maybe a little too big? Looks a bit like he's (somehow) heavy for his frame.

Likes to ground and pound which is awesome. Needs to get is hands inside a litle more because he's grabbing by the shoulder pads a lot.

Really excited to see what he turns into because he has the potential to be a monster.

Our next Q goes by the name of Blake.

What was his commitment video like though? Was it on this level?

Finishes them into the ground like Q. That’s a mental thing that’s hard to teach. He seems to move well to me. Some of the fat will be taken off as he adds muscle.

I'm probably going to write his name in the 2020 election.

I really don't know. When I watch Blake, I imagine defensive linemen thinking, "Wow, this guy is so huge and so athletic. It's going to be a very, very long day."

When I watched Q, I imagined the defensive thinking "Dear God. I'm going to hurt and humiliated today. Maybe I should fake an illness."

I admit, that I'm probably comparing Blake's film to the ND Q, which is not fair.

Blake is a monster, but Q was the monster.

But remember, you are watching Fischer's Sophomore film vs Q's Senior film.....That's pretty impressive Sophomore film

#18 overall on Rivals. Not a 5 star yet but well within 5 star territory. They only have fourteen 5 stars so far.

Anyone think it's possible for an Olineman to win IN HS Mr. Football? 2021 isn't looking that great for IN HS prospects, especially at the skilled positions.

I think Indiana now has a Mr Football for each position.

Sam Young won Mr. Football FL or something to that effect over Tim Tebow so i'd say it's possible for sure.

I think they have both. A Mr. Football at all positions (a.k.a All-State Team) and an overall Mr. Football. Kiser won it last year and we should be learning 2019 sometime soon I'd think. Probably going to be Spegal from New Pal is the safe bet.
