Saw in the thread someone corrected him and he's 33-67.

He had a horrible game against St Louis Cardinal Ritter where he was 16-37 and picked off 4 times.

Still, ND got the guy with the highest ceiling and he looks healthy. He will move up the rankings and could end up #1 if he does well at camps and Elite 11.

He will get dinged for his competition vs guys like McCarthy, McCord and Vandergriff who will play solid comp throughout their schedules but who cares.

It's fan made. All the blue blood schools have multiple accounts like this made by fans. And coaching staffs can't mention recruits by name until they sign their LOI's.

That's what I figured (and, I suppose, would have seen if I'd clicked through to the actual Twitter profile). Still. Can we maybe not rag on high school kids who wanted to go to ND but got recruited over?
It's not even like JJ spurned us for Michigan and we had to "settle" for Buchner.

I don't know about where you guys are from, but a football powerhouse by me (southern tigers) the team w/ 5* julian fleming(osu commit), 3* gaige garcia(michigan commit), 3*cal hallady (michigan st commit), unranked max tillet (several d1 offers), 3* preston zachman(he is going to commit to wisconsin this weekend)

ALL of these kids "red shirted" and repeated a grade in middle school but that's how this school just keeps churning out players who go onto div 1, div2 football

Do we know level of competition? Honestly for us to win an NC we need a heisman candidate at QB, we need someone to pan out, whether Buchner or Phil but we can’t have average QBs anymore. It’s been 10 years since we had a QB that could put the ball anywhere he wanted and had great numbers.

I realize its totally up to the player but wouldn't he be better off playing next year at one of those "football acadamies" ?

I read somewhere that ND coaches privately think he will compete for the job as soon as he arrives. Can anyone who knows more than me confirm? That would indicate he's a really special talent given how that's never even been considered for any of Kelly's prior QBs.

My guess is they are probably very excited to have him (as are we!), but it's also mostly hyperbole. IMO he's not going to beat out a 5th year PJ for the starting job.

Most think that -- depending on what happens with PJ -- he will either immediately start or sit one year and then start. But the discussions around the program also had Book going pro after this year, and now that we're a third of the way into the season that hasn't materialized. Jurkovec will be a true senior when Buchner gets here and there is a lot of stuff left to play out. But, IMO, Buchner is the best QB prospect ND has had committed since Clausen.

PJ would have a 5th year still in your scenario - 2021. Tyler's frosh season.

Well that can be true, and the former can also be true.

If A > B and A > C, you can still have C > B.

The only premier prospects ND has had since Clausen have been Crist, Wimbush, and Jurkovec. Crist was a guy that jumped up the rankings based on the All-American Bowl and didn't pan out. Wimbush was #46 overall, Jurkovec was #83 overall. In my opinion, it would take a criminal conspiracy for Buchner not to be a top 20 prospect when all is said and done. He has everything you want in a QB prospect, and is already #62 overall in the composite.

He is still behind guys like JJ McCarthy (lol) because of his injury. I've also seen guys like Caleb Williams live (plays in my conference, awesome kid) and Buchner is easily that good. So I expect there to be course correction in the rankings sooner rather than later.
