Leonard always has had a smile on his face, he really has embraced his time at Notre Dame (possibly more per above messages). Great postgame interview last night about what he said about Notre Dame....another reason why Notre Dame athletes are special.
The timing of his post game interview was horrible. Let him go sing and sway w his teammates during the Alma mater then interview him.

If only he had a defense.
Jimmy would be remembered in a completely different light if Al Golden was coaching back then.
We haven't had a dude that could sling it like him since. Those offenses were something special

I'm really delighted by my old school looking so much in control of this game, and who knows how far we might go... AND with what I thought was a mediocre (not bad by any stretch, but not great either by a long shot) game by our QB who can play much better. I'm going to applaud Riley despite that comment because to my eye, Indiana plays a very stout game of defense. I notice that our fans here don't want to give them credit for anything, but I was impressed by most of what they did (especially front seven) and with very few exceptions made us work hard to push our way downfield. We were better than them, but defensively they weren't slouches.

Without easy run offense, Leonard had to manage a tough game. It could have been better (and I'm with Dale in that I thought there should have been more designed QB runs --- but we were controlling so why get Leonard hammered?) What would have made it a true romp would have been crisp passing by Riley. Once in a while OK, but generally not. STILL we were obviously the team in control. Herbstreit said at halftime that he felt the field was tilted in our favor all half (as to the feeling of power) and was thinking we'd blow them out at any time.

Leonard I think will get better and if our team heals (seemed like a lot of dings or worse --- both guards, one out, one warrioring it ) we should be a very tough out.

PFF had 9 carries with 5 scrambles, tallying 4 designed runs

Virginia, Stanford and Navy were the only games with that little designed runs.

ND didn’t use their fastball last night.
Puts some legitimacy to the rumors on a hammy strain during the week. We might have took it easy on the designed runs.

It was pretty obvious Denbrock was calling a conservative game. The last TD drive was the most he opened it up.

He also had a couple of read-options that he clearly should have held onto, and a 3rd down where he threw to Evans or Collin’s and he had a lot of open field. Not to say he doesn’t miss a read here and there but maybe they were intentionally holding back his ability to take off.

Everything about this is art from RL. Do this a couple times against UGA and the narrative of him as a passer completely changes

Might have been the most impressive passing play of the season.
In general he was pretty sharp on Friday night. Threw good passes in tight windows more than usual. Which is good because the windows will be tighter from here on out.

It was for me. No way the QB that played against NIU, Purdue, and Miami (OH) could make that throw. There was another where I yelled out, "who the fuck just zipped that sucker in there!!?? what the fuck was that :D"

RL getting himself to a place where he can mentally make those throws is a testament to his resiliency. Everything football related that I've seen from this guy just screams "tough guy". Mentally and physically as hard as 2 day old shit. I thought having his mom tell him he sucked before every game was actually pretty trite, if not wholly contrived. Watching "in-public mindfulness guru" J.J. put on his show last year, had cranked up my cynicism with public displays to Tebowian levels. But if it was something that helped get RL to the place where he could be booed into the locker room at halftime against Miami and come out traveling a path that led to what we saw Friday is amazing to me.

I give that guy all the credit and I think he deserves his flowers from ND fans. I don't care what happens against Georgia, I will forever appreciate that he chose to play for the school I root for.

Apologizing to Williams after pulling the ball and scoring was awesome. I think he told him you’ve got four more years. Hysterical.

I like the story he told where he went home during the bye and just decided to stop stressing so much and let it rip. Freeman and Denbrock supported him and these are the results.

It's super impressive. Not many people can just say to themselves, "I'm going to stop having the yips now"
