Wish we had him for another year. He absolutely makes a difference on the field. Most importantly great cultural fit and excellent representative for the university.
I’m right there with you. After watching the games yesterday, I'm sorry for ever suggesting the staff may have made a mistake passing on Will Howard for Riley Leonard. Leonard certainly has flaws (like we saw the interception trying to throw down the field yesterday) but is also a true playmaker that has stepped up when it mattered in 11 out of 12 games this year.
You jinx'd it, thanks.I won't pretend I'm a huge RL fan, but only two fumbles on the year is incredibly impressive.
If it happens I'm gonna publish a book of all my worst hater takes
RL had to get a lot better for me to believe. He has. I had to believe there weren't any juggernaut teams. There aren't.If it happens I'm gonna publish a book of all my worst hater takes

RL was asked post-game if it was just a miscommunication between him and Mitchell on that play and he said, no, it was just a very poor throw by him.Rewatching his INT couple times, it looked awful, but I think RL actually had the right read based on the coverage. I can’t remember who the receiver was—maybe Mitchell—but I thought with the DB sitting topside he should have broken his route off and taken the 15yd stop route instead of continuing up the field.
Fair to question the playcall, but TO ME it signaled more poor WR coaching and communication than Riley just uncorking a bad ball.

I’ve been a believer and supporter of his from the jump. 1 bad game 11 good to excellent ones. A perfect fit for this offense. Great guy, great rep of the University. Keep it up RL. Go Irish.
You are 100% correct you have been.
He is a great rep for the university, great teammate, great fit for the offense. All of that is correct.
But he is a good QB, he is not great or above average. His arm is still to inconsistent. And I think that’s 100% ok. He gives it his all on every play and isn’t a prick. That’s still a win.
The WR’s have let him down some. But even on short crossing routes it’s 50/50 if he can get the ball out in front of them.
I think he is a good person too. I also think he's capable of making a bad throw and he did on that play. Even if he thought Mitchell was supposed to run his route to that spot, he threw the ball right to the defender. He didn't put any loft under the ball to give KM a 50/50 chance, he just threw it straight to the spot where the defender was standing. So I believe him when he said he just made a bad throw. It happens.Riley is 100% a good person. I don’t know that he would have admitted that it was miscommunication.
Prior to the season starting, there was some angst on IE about him being injury prone. It seemed to stem from him having one injury. RL played this season with abandon without missing a start. Here is to four more healthy games from Riley.
He was throwing to 3 or 4 healthy scholarship receivers by mid-season @ Louisville. But okay, let's go with "terrible." Great takeHopefully he comes back to campus as a fan. Hartman still does and he was terrible
Heck, you can just go into the game day threads. Shit take after shit take in those. You would think we had the shittiest coaching staff in college and we lost every game.If it happens I'm gonna publish a book of all my worst hater takes
I have quite a few horrible takes every single game. I pissed my pants in every thread I believe.Heck, you can just go into the game day threads. Shit take after shit take in those. You would think we had the shittiest coaching staff in college and we lost every game.
It's not your fault ND doesn't play flawless football for 60 minutes.I have quite a few horrible takes every single game. I pissed my pants in every thread I believe.

We’re done being afraid of anything — I know that much about this team. I know that, win or lose, we’re going to do it our way: We’re going to dare greatly.www.theplayerstribune.com
Thanks for sharing, one thing I took away from the article that's worth mentioning is how hard RL took that loss. The internet was merciless towards him too, sometimes you forget how hard these kids take it....and in those times we as fans should be a little more compassionate. Yes, he should have been benched during the NIU game....But he wasn't and that's on MF not RL.A Message For My Notre Dame Family | By Riley Leonard
