C'mon guys, we can't have this thread bogged down by talk about ice cream and fricken sprinkles. It's disrupting our hot takes about a QB battle with little to no tangible information and our breakdowns of 5 second clips of positional practice drills

Ok if this backfield and OL live up to the hype whoever starts at QB should be able to rely on a solid ground game. Hope we use more play action as it has worked well for us although used too sparingly. Short passes to possession receivers like Fields should help gradually build confidence. Unless the Miami D does a 180 we should be able to ball control and get a lead and hold it. Tempting to get the ball into so many good players hands just don’t get greedy. Don’t ask too much from either QB.

My useless $0.02 on the QB competition: I'm sure it's been mentioned somewhere in the past 29 pages, but I think it's also fair to point out that 1) there are new faces in the WR room and it will take time to gel, particularly for young QBs. 2) This particular defense the young guns are going up against in fall camp is quite possibly the best secondary and overall defense either QB will be going up against all fall...iron sharpens iron.

I always found it weird that people seem to pull for one QB over the other when they play for the same team. Just give me the best guy when you're ready and let's ball. I'm not worried about a damn thing; neither guy needs to be Joe Montana in South Beach. Just RTDB, hit a few PA/RPO, be on time with the quick hitters/screens and profit. I think either guy is capable and will only get better as the season wears on.

My Great (and late) Uncle used to always say stuff like "I hope the backup QB beats out (Quinn/Clausen/Golsen)"

Me: "What, are you crazy?! Why would you want our returning starter to be replaced?"

him: "Because that means the other guy was better!"

ETA: I know it's fun to debate and that's what the preseason/fall camp is for. But for people who are "worried"...based on what? Freeman never gave us a date or deadline to name a starter. Nor does he owe it to us to leak anything ahead of week 1.

If you just have fun and dont take things too seriously its great but mostly people's already sandy vaginas become engorged and enflamed and everyone turns into a twat.

I got distracted halfway through this post.

What're we talking about again?

I’m about as big a lunatic as you can imagine, yet I’m usually a positive voice of reason in the game day threads. Zero testosterone in the posting.

i dont think i've ever participated in a game day thread lol
Same. I stay off this thing during the games. Circle back for the postgame thread, which, when we lose and guys are really in their cups, is the absolute best.

And everyone gets a juice box and ice cream regardless of the outcome of the games
Ice cream? Are you serious? Need something healthy like apple or orange slices. Don't want one of those Karen moms losing it.

Saw that. Still trust our sources on here
Yeah I don’t see how you don’t go with Carr for the simple fact he looked way ahead of Minchey in the spring game. Minchey also took some sacks when he should have just thrown the ball away.

Watching Max Bullough get interviewed is hilarious. He wants to jump out of his skin. Good stuff!
