I’d rather it not be Rising. Nothing against him but that’s a long time to not be playing.

Loy says Rising would have crawled to ND out of high school fwiw
I like Riley Leonard, and he certainly has a higher ceiling, but his injuries + performance against Clemson, FSU, and ND are concerning. Maybe its just his supporting cast, but passing #'s aren't great.

Healthy Cam Rising is a very attractive option. Would lock him in and call it a day if we could tbh.

Might be the best case scenario honestly. That allows Minchey and/or Carr to get backup reps. If Angeli isn't the guy there's no reason to take more reps away from two guys that have better skillsets.
ND has a (healthy) problem. 1 (maybe 2) out of Minchey, Carr, and Knight will never be a starter. That's depth folks

First question from a transfer QB with experience should be will you consider having audibles.

I'm okay if they take someone (depending on who it is) and if Angeli leaves as a result. At best, Angeli is a bridge to Minchey and Carr.

I get what everyone is saying about Angeli, but I'd much rather him in the room than transferred. Having 3 more often than not in the portal era will be common place, but the QB room looks a bit scary if you make the assumption that the QB transferring in gets injured, Angeli transfers, and you are left with just Minchey and Carr.

Pratt should be the top target. Will be tough to pull him, though. I expect Auburn and FSU to go hard after him and it wouldn't surprise me if LSU did as well.

As I asked before... But do they have Gerald Porker as OC?

I'm not sure that Leonard will have his degree. He's in his 3rd year out of HS and he wasn't a EE. But if ND can take a basketball player from NW that is 2 years out of HS as a transfer then there's no excuse not to get Leonard through admissions.

I would hope Minchey would pass Angeli on the depth chart by next season anyways.

Pratt and a new OC. Maybe his OC. Leonard is a nice player for Duke. But, I don't know if he's the answer for Notre Dame.

In the 3 games where Duke has played real football teams (Clemson, ND, and FSU). Riley Leonard is a combined 36-76, 47% comp pct, 378 yards, 4.97 yds/att, 1 TD and 2 INT's.

Gross. Why bring in the next Brandon Wimbush.

Really wish we could've seen Pratt against Ole Miss.

In Riley’s defense, I couldn’t name you one WR or RB on Duke. Their entire offense runs through him and he has zero help. He’ll have much better weapons at ND, or least he better with Stuckey being in year 3.

Pratt’s competition is ass, Leonard has questions with his arm, and Rising hasn’t played in almost two years. There’s a question mark with every transfer QB option.

Especially for what ND will most likely be looking for. I don't see them looking for a multi-year player, not with Minchey and Carr being in the room. So, in order to get a one year guy, they are all going to come with baggage.

Just for reference sake. I seem to recall better options last year. Maybe I am just misremembering.
