Grayson McCall couldnt get into Auburn. Take that name off.

Tau is interesting but I don't love his completion %, and he allegedly turned down "millions" from Alabama in the past off season. I bet he either goes pro in what seems to be a weak QB class, or stays put.

I'm all in on Pratt. He looks the part and I think he'd be better than Sam Hartman.

I'm aware... but that's essentially the list for anyone in the top 80 of passing this year + Rising. So the fact that Freeman is openly discussing it is a great sign because the grad transfer availability list is not going to be long.

Here are some QB's that have another year of eligibility as grad transfers:

Michael Pratt (Tulane)
Cam Rising (Utah)
Will Rogers (Mississippi State)
Hudson Card (Purdue)
Brett Gabbert (Miami OH)
Grayson McCall (Coastal Carolina)
Kurtis Rourke (Ohio)

As I mentioned in my previous post, I'm not sure Leonard will be able to graduate in 3 years from Duke since he wasn't a EE.

Pratt is easily #1.
Would be interested in Rising and McCarthy.
Haven't watched any of the other guys mentioned to have a strong opinion.

bingo. if we take anyone i think it would be pratt. i'm sure freeman knows or will know if we need to go to the portal. pratt is a complete qb. i've followed him through his career and seen him play in person. he's better than hartman. arm strength, cool under fire, can run and accurate. i think the biggest obstacle to signing pratt would be the nfl. he'll get drafted no later than the 4th round. not saying he wouldn't leave tulane if he decided to stay another year in college for w/e reason, but he doesn't seem to be looking for another college landing spot. he passed on going to uf this past off-season.

that said, i would be ecstatic if we could reel in pratt. if we go to the portal for a starting qb, i hope this is the last year we need to.

Also, it occurs to me that JJ McCarthy might be in the portal this winter...
mccarthy will be going to w/e nfl team drafts him in the first round. we can thank rees for jj not having a career in south bend. was a blessing in disguise for jj because i doubt he would have been developed here like he has in ann arbor.

I think Pratt would be #1 option, but Leonard doesn’t have to graduate to transfer, it would make it much easier though

Kurtis Rourke had an excellent year for OH last year before he got injured in 2nd to last reg.-season game. I haven't followed him as much this year, but don't think he's the same as he was pre-injury.

Wasn't the feeling at the time, that JJ was pissed about how ND handled the recruitment and felt ND mislead him and screwed him over? Even if JJ were to transfer, my assumption would be that JJ would tell ND to F off.

It wouldnt surprise me if one of the Ohio State QB's end up leaving... although it may be after the spring if one of them clearly isnt going to start.

With all of the news happening this week, how can anything McCarthy has done to this point be trusted? He had a Houston Astros schematic advantage when he become starter in 2022.

It is a totally different coaching staff so if he were to go into the portal, he might at least consider ND based upon the new personalities involved.

We need an experienced QB for one year until one of the young guys is ready. We don't need some backup from Texas or Ohio State

Pratt would be first choice for sure but Brett Gabbert from Miami Ohio would be an interesting fallback. Dude has played a lot of football. Though he’s also been hurt a fair bit.

He was having a good year up until last weekend. He is out for the season with another injury...

Reading between the lines of what MF said, I'm assuming Minchey and Angeli should be getting some reps in for Pitt and Clemson if they are waiting for the next bye week to decide whether to look at the portal

It's kind of a weird statement by Freeman. Why not wait a couple more weeks when the season is over? What could Minchey/Angeli possibly show in practice or meaningless game reps the next two weeks to persuade him in either direction?

We need to look in the portal again and see who we can get

Perhaps he is mentally preparing the team for rumors that are going to start popping up?
