Beat OSU and Clemson, lose to BYU, lose to Bama in the playoff

I see 10-3, with some promising signs for 2023.

We'll see some growing pains that see ND losing two of its three toughest games... but they'll also win one against tOSU/Clemson/USC. If they manage to win 2, then I'm wrong and they're at 11 wins, because they won't drop a game they shouldn't, either.

However, I DO see them dropping a game they shouldn't, but winning a bowl game, setting up huge momentum for 2023.

The more and more I think about it I just can’t find a way to win in Columbus, other than that I think we have the ability to win any other game on the schedule

Clemson is a big win, btw.

Someone like Cuse or UNC plays way too close.

Ohio State is a toss-up. Either way, good enough for a playoff appearance.

If Rees leaves, who would Freeman go after? I assume it would be an experienced coach and elite recruiter.

Yep. I say no way they play unless it's a playoff game. I still think 11-1 is reasonably possible. Gun to my head, I'd say 9-3.

I went 11-2. Might be a reflection of the game week kool aid kicking in, lol. But, this should not be a 9-4 or worse team. So, with 10-3 being a theoretical floor then 11-2 seems like reasonable achievement. I've said it before and I'll say it again. If this football team loses 4-5 games this year then we got this wrong, as far as the coaching staff goes. I see few reasons that this team, with this talent, should be losing that many games. Reading through ISD's player by player comments and it further solidifies those feelings.

This should be a very good football team.

The thought saddens me, but I'm thinking you're probably right (regarding the two guys sitting out, hopefully they'll win their bowl game regardless).

I went 9-3 with a bowl win like many others. Just seems right, and would be a very promising start to the Freemanera when we look back on it.

I think we lose to Ohio State but close. I think we lose to USC by double digits. I think there is another game that we sneak by just by the skin of our teeth that shouldn’t be that way. And we lose the bowl game. For some reason ND football fails to show up for significant bowl games. I think that happens yet again this year.
