I really just hope someone beats Bilal out. Don't want him at rover, mike, buck, anywhere. Maybe just ST.

I think he'd be fine at Buck. I can "see" better options at Mike and Rover, but not at Buck.

I think Genmark-Heath has a higher ceiling at Buck than Bilal does, and he has played and practiced at the position already unlike Bilal.

Unless the plan is to start JGH at Mike and have Bilal at Buck, I think he'd be a better option at Buck.

Is there any film from spring training getting release or is that a thing of the past?

Yeah, ideally we have 3 LB'rs better than Bilal. I think he's pretty mediocre, especially at Rover. Good insurance to have a 5th year sr around just in case we have a rash of injuries but hope Lamb, Bauer and Simon are ready for action.

Yesterday the media was allowed in, but no cameras. Tomorrow's practice has time where media can shoot video so I expect we see some clips then.

Brady Quinn broke on Pardon My Take that we have a walk-on in his 30s this year that was a Navy SEAL. Brian Duffy. Anybody know anything? Pretty cool.

Does anyone have paraphrased reports from Thursday?

I've seen Kevin Austin and Brock Wright look really good (as does Cole Kmet).

Was anything else offered up?

Media reported great things from Troy Pride. Sampson said Griffith looks the real deal now at corner. Bracy and Davis ran in 2nd unit and looked comfortable. Not much on lb, dl and rb. By all accounts all of the wr's looked good: Lenzy, Keys, Young, etc. All the reporters believe that Phil has no shot at surpassing Book as QB this year.

Edit: Prister reported that he liked how DJ Brown looked at safety. Apparently Paul Moala could be moving to Rover.

TJ Jr has looked really good so far. Clear lead back through the first couple of practices.

Jurkovec is constantly looking to throw deep, and he's really good at it... it's the mastery of the rest of the nuances of playing QB that need work.

Griffith looks comfortable at boundary corner and is moving really well, which is encouraging considering some of his struggles in coverage last year.

Lacey is gonna play a lot this year, and is definitely gonna be a Dude.

So he's older than our QB coach and can share parenting tips and reminisce about the '90s over a couple beers with our OC and DC.

But in all seriousness, that's pretty cool. Having him around will hopefully put a little perspective into the lives of some of the guys who don't always get it right away. Plus, he can probably beat most of these guys in strength and conditioning workouts even though they are a decade younger than him.

Hopefully he actually gets to get in a game this year.

DJ Morgan is transferring. Maybe you meant DJ Brown?

Where'd this come from? Genuinely curious because I thought the reps had been split basically 50/50 for him and Jafar.

Mike Frank's notes.

Maybe I misread, but it seemed like he was saying Jafar has been no.2 behind TJ Jr.

That's what I thought too. If Jones is the clear #1, it gives me the feeling that Jafar isn't developing as hoped, more so than Jones is really "the man".

Haven't really heard anything about CBo, which I think this will be a key year for him to get into the conversation.

Hearing anything about Williams?

Sorry, it was from Freeman. Said TJ Jr. got the majority of the work with the 1's the other day.

If what's being said about Griffith is true, I'm not too shocked. We always knew he was pretty athletic, but not the quickest guy. I feel like that, and the fact he was a freshman, could obviously explain some of his struggles. However, playing the boundary should be of some benefit to him, Using strength in press, not having to play smaller guys in the slot, etc.

Any time I hear about Lenzy killing it, i get a tingle.

Glad to hear JOK might be turning the corner.

Sucks not to hear about Austin.

"Strength of the team: Defensive Line."
"Troy Pride stands above." (That's JLove talk).

These are a couple of real Wows looking forward to the season.

I really liked MTA and Hinish last year. Given that our DEs are so good (i.e. Great) if MTA and Hinish have as good of backups as I think they do, we might be such a DLine monster that the learning linebackers get a lot of grace growing into their spots. The other guy who said that the OLine will be very good; and the other-other guy who said that Kmet was not only a monster receiver but was going to be thrown to, bring the Offensive optimism way up there too.

KOOLAID............

It's great to hear Simon is doing well, Bilal might still be growing as a player and JOK might be turning the corner. Jack Lamb has received a lot of praise. We need everyone surging into fall then let's see who the coaches roll out.

Just watching practice video and Lawrence Keys looks different than many others. He looks shifty AF. I really hope he earns meaningful minutes this season.

Also happy to hear Bracy and Griffith look good.

Also great to hear the TEs are looking good.
